Anybody find any knit amigurumi patterns? Especially a cat. I can find tons of crochet patterns, but I'm not a fan of crochet.

I think amigurumi is only done in crochet. I've never seen patterns in knit. There are patterns for knit toys, but I don't they would be considered amigurumi. You can check out knitting pattern central. See what they have in either the animal or toy category.

This little kitty might suit your purpose. She resembles the crochet versions.

There are a few knitted patterns on the net. I posted a tutorial on my site about knitting amigurumi. You could make a head with 48 sts at the diameter and a 'vase-shaped' body and add felt ears, arms and legs.

Here is the most recent tutorial with links to the first one:

I'd be curious to see how my instructions work out, so if you do try them, please let me know! Happy knitting!

hi all - thanks for your help. I found a post on craftster.org with the most adorable knit kitty pattern - they're felted but that's cool too. I've already picked up some yarn and bought the pattern. I think I'm gonna knit up a bunch.
