A similar weight cotton rug yarn should work. Have you looked at something along those lines?

No .. haven't looked yet. Hopefully, maybe Walmart has something like that. I'm always a bit leery about changing yarn. Seems like it can really make things turn out not "quite the same". Thanks. Janice

Gloucester was actually an aran weight yarn, so I'm not sure why the pattern suggested rug yarn as a substitute. I think a soft worsted cotton might work better. Check out Shine by KnitPicks: Shine

I searched every variation of "shoulder sling" and/or "Annie's" I could think of, and though I found quite a few nice patterns, none of them come close to this one.
