Rejoin the yarn?? Help!

Posted by kelela94 (My Page) on

I have never had to "Pick up and knit", so now that I'm starting a project that requires me to do so, I need a bit of help. I understand the concept of picking up and knitting, but how do I rejoin the yarn to start doing so??

I'm also thinking about trying out the hedgehog pattern from fiber trends and noticed "rejoin yarn to remaining stitches" in the pattern. Can someone please tell me what that means and how to do it?? I'd really appreciate the help.

I just leave a tail of yarn about 10" long and start picking up the stitches and knitting. Then I go back later and weave that end securely into the fabric of the piece.

Here is a link that might be useful: pick up and knit

Thanks, Donna. I was thinking that was probably what I was supposed to do, but then thought there must be a more "secure" way to do it. I'll give it a try!
