Ripple pattern

I have googled and googled and got tired of wading through all the "stuff". All I want is the basic ripple pattern. I can adapt it to the amount of stitches I require. What I am making are knitted hats. I'm not using a pattern and have knitted a number of them, but have starting making them with a fancy crochet border. I would like to make some with the ripple border, so I can use up small amounts of different colored yarn. Thanks, Dottie

RE: Ripple pattern

I have the simple vintage one, but don't know how to send attachments through the forum. Send me an email with "ripple" in the subject line and I'll get it to you.

I can't tell if this is what you want or not...it's called the feather and fan...knit up a little swatch and see what you think.
1.. Row 1: Knit across.
2.. Row 2: Purl across.
3.. Row 3: *(K2tog) 2 times, (yo k1) 4 times, (K2tog) 2 times.* Repeat from * to * across row.
4.. Row 4: Knit across (forms purl ridge on front).

RE: Ripple pattern Sandra?

Sandra, on row 5 do you repeat starting at row one or 2? Does that make sense? I guess what I'm asking is to you knit row 4 and then knit another row?
