Has anyone ever made this "Chunky Lace Capelet"? Row 1 is not illustrated, and uses a very unusual starting chain technique called "foundation single crochet" which results in a chain with a row of sc across already in it all in one step. Then row 1 is worked left to right, again not illustrated, and very against nature! If only they had illustrated row 1! I have ripped it out 3 times already, and besides the starting chain was too short for a size 10 despite checking the gauge. To add to the fun, the yarn is not yet available in stores (Red Heart Grande') so I am using 2 strands of Caron One Pound acrylic. Is anyone else working on this project? I like it b/c it has no typical pattern increases, yet falls correctly on the shoulders and closes nicely down the front, unlike others I've made. I would enjoy hearing from anyone on this pattern.
