Pattern question

Hi,

Im kind of new to knitting and I am a little confused about the following pattern. Super quick afghan (#50573)by lion brand.

It says to cast on 50 stitches and then it goes on to garter stich every row and change colors for every row. It doesn't look like the fringe is added afterward but rather part of the ends from when you add the new color for each row(hope that makes sense). Do you think thats right? Also, how would it not unravel at the beginning of each row? Are you just suppsed to knot it? The finishing part of the pattern says to weave in ends but if you did then what about the fringe? Has anyone ever made this afghan? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I already bought all of the yarn and would really like to start knitting. Thanks in advance.

Well, it's pretty obvious that someone didn't proofread that pattern. Probably because there isn't really much to it, they thought it was a no-brainer. Nowhere does it mention fringe, but says to weave in your ends. I believe it was designed to have your ends become your fringe. And in that case you would just knot together both the thread you are dropping and the thread you are picking up, as close to the afghan as possible.

Thank you,Donna. Thats what I was thinking but I didn't want to start it and mess it up. I'll give it a whirl and see what happens. Thanks again.
