Help- My Afghan is curling!

HI,

I've started a Paton's Pattern with Red Heart Yarn. Two strands to be knitted together on #11 circular needles. The first row after casting on is a pattern, the next row is K the Ks and P the Ps. Third row is a repeat of the first and the fourth row a repeat of the K and P row. The rows are a combination of a slight pattern and stocking stitch.

Well, I'm 10 rows in and the edges are curling in. I know that stocking stitch produces a curl but didn't expect it to happen in a printed afghan pattern. What to do?

Should I start again and do several garter stitch rows before starting the pattern rows. The instructions say not to press and there will be fringe added.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

BTW, it's called 'Warm Thoughts" and is in a Patons Decorator Throws booklet.

Thanks!

Nancy
