Long Shot-missing pattern

Hi..I made a Navajo crocheted afghan in the 80's. It was different than most that were being crocheted. I found it in a magazine. Seems like it was in Crochet World or one similar. I've gone threw all my pattern, page by page, & I'm so disappointed that I can't put my hands on it. It has a row of dark brown on the bottom, then three rows of off white, three rows of variegated yarn, three rows of a rust color, then back to the dark brown. At the end of each section of color being used, you'd cut an extra length of yarn to form the fringe. If necessary, I could post a picture. Does this ring a bell with anyone? Does someone know what magazine this was in for sure? Thanks in advance if someone can help. Janice
