'jibber' - with pictures

So a while ago, someone (Sheilajoyce?) posted about hat type object that she had growing up, looking for a pattern. I saved one of the links given from the thread, and finally got up the motivation (read: I can't wear hats to class and have my hair look nice for work later) to make one.

I used Plymouth Yarns, Baby Alpaca Brush, much less than one skein, in color 1000 (it's beige). Size 9 needles.

I altered the pattern quite a bit. Instead of the k1p1 ribbing for the strings, I did an i-cord with 3 stitches for the length I wanted. I also increased to 30 stitches instead of 24. Instead of knitting until lenght 12.5", I knitted till it was the length of my notebook (I didn't have a ruler, I knit in class).

I hate the beige, so I'm currently dyeing it pink with Kool-aid. It was leftover yarn from a commissioned project.

That's a 12" ruler.
