Hi Ladies,
I am seaching for a baby boys christening blanket to make. I want something that is different and elegant at the same time. I have made the waffle weave, basket weave, but I am searching for something that is unique and diffent in crochet..Any ideas are welcome, I have until March or April for my great nephew..he is due this month, and I am currently working on a cable and twist pattern for his arrival..I love a challenge, have done many intricate patterns, now I am in search for a gorgeous, knock out baby boys christening blanket....!!(this is going to ct, his mom and family live out of state)This is the 4th one I am making for her, so I really want it to be "its own"
Thank you ladies and Happy New Year

RE: Baby Boy's Christening Blanket

Oddly enough, I never think of christening blankets as being gender-specific. I just find a pattern I like and make it in white and use it for whatever baby comes along next. I'm a knitter, so I just dig out my books of pattern stitches and makes whatever strikes my fancy.

If you go to Michaels, look to see if they have the Leisure Arts booklet called "Make one for Baby." It has some nice patterns, and on the back cover are two in white that you might like.

Also you can check out crochetpatterncentral.com

Good luck.
