| My question is this. Should the bottom border of a sweater be knitted on smaller sized needles than will be used for the body of the sweater? I will be doing the border in seed stitch. I often see that patterns call for ribbed border to be knitted on a smaller needle. |

| That is entirely up to you and how you like your sweaters to fit. With me and my belly, I wouldn't knit with a smaller needle, as it would "hug" me a bit tighter than the rest of the sweater and then give my paunch a little "extra". No thanks. I would use the same size needle and let it "drape" instead. Cuffs is another story, and I would definitely use smaller needles there. |
