reading a rowan pattern

I'm new to Rowan patterns and am puzzled from the beginning. Can someone help me understand this, "(RS): K1 [1:0: 1: 1: 0: 1], *P1, K1, rep from * to last 0 [1: 0: 1: 1: 0: 1] st, PO [1: 0: 1: 1: 0: 1].

I have never knit a rowan pattern, but from experience in other patterns, it looks like it is the stitch pattern by size.

ie: size vs, (s, m, lg, xlg, xxlg, xxxlg) so if it is small you making, the pattern would be K1,*P1, K1, rep from * to last stitch, pass the stitch over.

If it is the medium size you are making, then the pattern would be K0 or actually starting with *p1, K1, repeat from * to the last stitch. No pass over.
