| I am making some newborn size booties for a baby due to arrive in our family next month. My DD wanted tiny booties so they would fit her newborn this time last year, and so I came upon a solution that I am repeating for this next baby, her nephew. Knit newborn socks using fingering or sock yarn. But at the bottom of the ribbing before the body of the sock, make a row of eyelet holes through which you can thread a 16 inch tie, made from chaining the yarn. That tie will keep the booties on a little one's feet. I make the eyelet row with yo, k 2 together across. Hope you enjoy making some tiny booties too. Homemade booties stay on best. |
