Question @ these annuals inside for the winter
Comments (3)I have found the best way to keep basil is to grow it in water. I've read in several places that to keep basil fresh, you should put it in a clear glass of water, put a plastic bag over it, (don't tie it closed) and keep it in the frig. Tried it and the stems rooted in the water in the frig. I also keep stems in water on my kitchen window sill. Keeps for weeks that way, roots and grows great. have never had luck with it in soil over winter. don't think I get enough sun in the winter....See MoreNeed a hand cream for age spots
Comments (24)Do all of the lighteners contain a form of retinol? I have a problem with it being too harsh for my fair skin. One of my favorite products for years was Neutrogena's Daily Facial Lotion with SPF. Used it for years. One morning I opened a new bottle, applied per usual, and by the next morning I looked like I had spent the previous day sitting in the sun without sunscreen. Wouldn't have been so bad, but it was Christmas morning and I wasn't in a tropical area. LOL It took 3 or 4 days for the redness to go away. MIL swears to stick with it that my reaction was a common one, especially not ever having used retinol products. Sorta of no pain no gain. I keep reminding myself that MIL has used prescription strength retinol to rid herself of facial wrinkles. Her face looked like raw meat for so long. I didn't see any difference in her wrinkles despite her use of the retinol and who knows what other prescription products. Well, I'll go with the no pain. Not trying to rid my well earned facial lines, just want to moisturize my face! Are there skin lightening products out there for those who can't tolerate the retinol??...See MoreQuestion about homemade hand cream/body cream.
Comments (10)I have used this for years. It's the only thing that keeps my skin soft especially in winter. I use the creamy vaseline in the tube. I also use any lotion that I like the smell of. Right now mine smells like Avon's Haiku. I ordered some of that skin so soft. I tried to make it using coconut oil only but, it kept separating. Now it has both coconut oil and the creamy vaseline. It seems to work much better. With the coconut oil in it, it seems to be a little oily when you first put it on, but it sinks in pretty fast. I rub this into my heals every night and I never have those dry nasty looking heals....See MoreHand Lotion OR Hand Cream
Comments (29)I've used straight olive oil on my skin for years. It's the only thing I've ever used that really kills the winter itch. I have psoriasis, which really complicates things. A couple of years ago my doctor commented that my skin was looking at lot better and I told him about the olive oil. He was a little amused until I made my case -- all natural, full of fatty acids and esters that the skin just loves, penetrates into the skin, doesn't just lay on top of it, and the proof of all of this was, well, my skin. He now recommends that all of his patients with dry skin use olive oil....See Morekris_zone6
