Enjoyed hearing the happy stories here. We never get any trick-or-treaters up here in our mountain community. That's why we have our annual Halloween Homemade Soups & Bread dinner parties down at our friends' home in town. The party was fun and my homemade French Onion soup was a huge hit. Thank goodness I kept out enough for DH & I to have another bowl tonite, as the rest was eaten up quickly. Trail, you made me laugh out loud! I can just picture you two sitting out on your steps waiting for candy donations (LOL)! Maire cate: I know, Halloween candy is so hard to ignore!So are the cookies. My friend snuck a bag of her (delicious!) homemade ghost cookies into my empty soup pot before we left last night and they've been calling my name all morning long! Annie: hope you had a great meal last night! Deedee: oooooh, scary movies, did you watch "Signs" (my fav)??? Patty: that's the best way to celebrate ;') Fun: I know, kind of sad really. Same here. Teacats: your Halloweens always sound like such fun! The kids in your area are so lucky! Marcolo: I'm still shaking my head, trying to understand your post, and chuckling over it (LOL)! And, seriously, you "actually detest kids"?

Wait a minute. A truck crashed into your house? Did I miss this story? My MIL once was having lunch in Georgetown and a car crashed through the window of the restaurant. The waiters had to get her to move to another table, I think she would have sat there eating her salad while the radiator of the car was releasing its steam. :) I also want to say thank you to everybody for all the help and hand holding you are providing me with lately. Mamapinky: Cheryl with our timedifferense it takes me to the next day for me to get back to you al. I do on a dayly baisis take 4 different medicins for my neck pain just to be able to have some kind of a good life, I dont know if its good to be on these drugs but if i dont take them i am on bedrest. One of them is a morfine drug, so they are strong. I would not want this on anybody but I also kinda do not wanna be without this experience, I have learned alot but the hard way. Elcamino: thank you for thise kind words. It just fun to tell others about someting you love and that people like us here in this forum can relate to. There are a thread here that do show al of my laundryroom and I think all of the equipment I got, look for: http://ths.gardenweb.com/discussions/3340925/showing-my-laundryroom-in-sweden?n=19 I have noticed that it does seme that you in the US does not iron much, just fold stuff out of the dryer, I mostly hang dry , not that it does matter as I iron either way of drying decause I like the look and feel of the fabric after ironing or pressing or mangleing, and mangled sheet does keep clean for longer and does not dust as much. Other this is from pics and vids that you mostly underuse the capacity of you washers, I dont get that, do they not clean full loads? I can cram my miele eurowasher full and it all is clean. Thank you all for the Christmas wishes.

Gadgets, you asked for an update on mom. She has dementia, and is in a nursing home for rehab after falling and breaking her hip in 4 places. Rehab has been slow. Some from the dementia, and some from slow healing. She has been making progress, and had only just been cleared for total weight bearing a week and a half ago. On Tuesday last week we were told that insurance would no longer be paying for her to stay there. That she would be discharged on Friday. We had less than 24 hours to appeal. The appeal was denied. She/DB is paying to stay until Jan. 5. (DB had total POA) The therapists were just going to start working with mom on stairs and getting in and out of a car. I don't know yet whether mom will go back to DB's or go to another facility. This one is great, but very expensive. Mom has had great care here. I will be sorry to see her moved. DB is trying to keep her with him and his family for as long as possible, but I don't know how much longer that will be possible. Mom is still in a wheelchair, and does very little for herself. The anesthsia and pain medication made the dementia worse. I went Tuesday to see her, and there was very little conversation, tho I try to tell her what the grands and great grands are up to. I went yesterday, and we had a nice visit. She could hold small conversations, and seemed to be enjoying the day. One of her aids is a wonderful woman, who has been an aid since she was 15, and is just a few years older than I am. I will miss her when mom is discharged. I made sure that I talked to her and told her how greatful I am for the care she has given mom. She had just found out the day before that mom is being discharged. She said she will be sad to see her go. Her own mother now has dementia. I am keeping her in my prayers. Thank you so much for asking. I had forgotten that I had posted about this or I would have given an update sooner.
