How thick do you make shortbread cookies?

I just made a big batch of shortbread cookies. I don't normally make them........actually I never make them, yet I love them.

The bottoms are over-cooked on some of them, they are too thin.
The recipe said to roll the dough 1/4" thick, and bake at 375. Do you thin the temperature is too high, too?

I used butter and cream cheese and they are rich, good though.

I'm open to suggestions and recipes!
