I had one, but never used it for a picnic, I doubt if I still have it. I have a tin one that I sometimes keep bread in. It has a hinged lid and handles. It is sort of a wood grained finish on it.

Picnic baskets used to be one of my favorite things to give as wedding gifts. I'd pack them with pretty cloth napkins, plastic ware, a bottle of wine. I still remember the one we had when I was little.

I'd pay serious money to have my parents' old picnic basket, complete with the plastic (melamine?) divided plates and matching mugs! I do however still have the plaid carrier that held more than one thermos -- of coffee and milk that we took along with our picnic basket when we all went fishing for a day on one of MN beautiful lakes!! (What IS the plural of thermos -- thermoses??)

I definitely do still have a beautiful picnic basket. It's been a while since we used it unfortunately.

Yes, we have a genuine picnic basket, and use it during nice "picnic weather." And, like Rhizo, it's what we generally give for a wedding present. Everyone who has gotten one from us has commented that it was one of the best things they received. They're easy to personalize for the recipients.

i have one put away some where, haven't seen it in probably ten years.

I have 3 wooden picnic baskets.. One I keep my dish towels in it, another one has magazines in it and the 3rd I keep my decorating books in. But we use a cooler for picnics.

Yes I have two they are wonderful light containers for all sorts of things ad for carrying baking in .

Aw, I'm sad to know this! I thought I was original. I always give a picnic basket for wedding showers. I put a note in them telling them to use it and sneak away for quiet time that is just for them. Or maybe, it's that great minds think alike?! Yea, that's it!

I do use mine, but it's with my son. He loves picnics, more than anything else. His number one request when I say, we have free time, what would you like to do?

We have a wooden basket like that, that has been used for holding dog toys for many years. We do however also have a picnic backpack that has plates, utensils, wine glasses, a cheese knife and a cutting board, a rolled up blanket, storage for a wine bottle and an insulated compartment to keep food warm or cold.

I have a smaller basket I use sometimes to take dishes to a church dinner or something similar. It has a shelf in it so you can take two things, one on top of the other. I have a small, maybe 6x6x12 basket, very much like the one pictured that I use for sewing supplies.

I have my Moms and MIL'S baskets. They are in really great shape. My daughter has them displayed on a shelf. I bought all 3 of my girls the one from Longenberger. They use them often. I remember my mom using hers often.

I have several of them...they hold my hundreds of napkin rings, all sorted by color!

I still have the one we got for a wedding gift 32 years ago. We used it alot way back when. Think I'll go look for it :)

I never had one and wouldn't use one now because the new, lightweight soft bags are more convenient and thermal. I have a woven willow 'market basket' that was my mother's. It was our 'good neighbor basket' -- to take food to a new neighbor or someone who was sick, etc.

I love baskets because I can use them for storage, decorating, carrying food, gardening, gift giving. I usually get them from Papermart. since they have a good amount of choices there.
