Do you plan to use the 3rd bay in the garage for every day parking or is it more for storage or for a car with more occasional use? If the latter you could consider doing a tandem garage on one side. If you want a front facing garage I would try to set it back some so it isn't the thing you see sticking out first. Although frankly when you are on wider lots or acreage you often see the side facing garage just as much if not even more than the front facing ones so I don't think in those cases that a side facing does nearly the same for a house as it does on a narrower lot, where it doesn't become as visible from the street. Our neighborhood have many side facing garages including ours, and I see those garages and sides of houses a whole lot more than I see the front of the houses as I'm driving by or even as I'm out running I see the sides more than the front. I actually wish I had thought about that and changed it to a front facing that was set back a little instead as it would have worked better with house access from the drive way etc. Only the houses that are placed along a curved part of the road do I see less of the garage. One has it on the side, but in the way back and still attached and that one you do see a little less of it than the majority that have them to the front side.

Oh, justterrilynn! Those photos just make me want to cry. They are poignantly heartbreaking. I am so very sorry that you had to say goodbye to your precious little one. I hope you find comfort in many years of happy memories. Not that my cats understand, but I've found some comfort in telling them that Tiger is in heaven, waiting for us there. OK, actually the comfort comes from the fact that I truly believe that. God makes each little creature so very unique -- how could He not have a place for them too? (((((Hugs)))))

Pseudolithos mccoyi was hard for me for a long time. First one I got was DoA, second one withered into nothing in too much sun. Third one is still alive, less than 10% direct sun, 75-100 degrees Fahrenhei, constant air circulation, and high humidity have caused a huge growth spurt. Anything from tropical coastal deserts are kind of hard to grow, because they like a strange mix of relative dryness and humidity in my experience. Senecio scaposus var. addoensis is the only plant I have given up on so far. Very strict dormancy in Florida. I had had it for 2 weeks, and it got caught in a single rainstorm and was completely dead by the end of the week. Dorstenia buchananii var. longepedunculata, I was giving it a strong drink every week and a half and I had substantial stem growth. Got caught in the sprinklers one night for 10 minutes and the stem base rotted upwards and down into the caudex. I didn't notice until the stem started sagging. I tried squeezing the caudex and the insides of it oozed out :-( Pseudolithos cubiformis also got caught in the sprinklers that same night. I had to cut off its largest lateral stem because of rot less than 24 hrs later. It's still alive though! :-)

I've been cogitating on this off and on all day and decided to do my own layout. I have taken ideas from everywhere and was getting confused by the various "option" titles so this is my Rev. 1. I laid it out as I would want a kitchen designed which maximizes function and minimizes steps. So here it is.I put the refrigerator on the outside wall so it is closer to the eating area and within fairly easy reach and steps to the sink and range. Most important triangle. I put the oven(s) on the wall with the range top. I bought you a 5 burner, 36" range top, but a 30" could work as well. I made the left side wall a long set of cabinets and pantry spaces that can be designed for your needs. I created a pulldown center section to pull down a desk surface so when not in use can be closed up similar to a Murphy Bed design. Then when closed, all the mess is hidden. This could be a study place, laptop storage, etc. Rather than put built-in islands I found two antique buffets (use your imagination!) and placed them in the central area where they could be moved if necessary. I left a good open space in the center so in a few steps you can go from sink to stove top. One of these buffets is open on the bottom to store pots and pans for easy access and if they are pretty, nice look. I chalk painted these (more imagination please!) in a color I love for pops in the kitchen. I put the dishwasher to the right of the sink (if you are right handed) and there is room for it on the left as well. By putting at 48 x 20 buffet (or interesting wood furniture piece) on the left you provide good space for baking, and a 60 x 20 unit on the right for cooking layout in addition to the laydown space I provided on each side of the range and oven. I provided space for a 42" countertop depth French door refrigerator. I put an approximately 6' window over the sink area. I did not note upper cabinets but you can imagine them or shelving in the areas to the left and right of sink and on the inside wall as well. I think I have the measurements fairly accurate from your drawings, but of course, all measurements would have to be verified. Depending on the style of your table, the buffet, or center units could be styled or custom made to suit your style.
