A sad day

One year ago today we lost our beautiful daughter. She will always be in my heart but I miss our daily chats & the love which grew more & more each year. I know she is in a better place & for the first in many years she is not in pain. RIP Liz we love you.

To lose a child is especially difficult but to lose a loved one around the holidays just seems to magnify it. Wallow in those precious memories and enjoy this festive season in Liz's honor.

Thank you oakley...you said it better than I . I am a believer in people . I have had two brothers commit suicide and a son that has struggled with mental illness for decades. Deciding to write a person off because they have performed in a way that is abhorrent to the rest of us is a knee jerk reaction. It has taken me decades to realize that someone else's pain can be and likely is greater than mine. I will never know what moves them to the actions they commit . My DH and I get up every single day and say thank you for the life we have. I would hope that others would do the same. Energy spent reviling those that are "different" is wasted. Take care of the circle of light that surrounds you that is ALL that any of us can do. If we each do this the circles will grow to include all. c

@Mischievous Magpie (CO 5b) Thank you! Yes it is always so sad when little ones get sick because they can’t even tell you what hurts. My 15 month old just finished antibiotics for an ear infection 3 weeks ago, then got a cold from a family member. Finished that cold a week ago and is now again with bilateral ear infections plus cutting his upper lateral incisors. I hope both of yours get a break also and feel better, I can’t even imagine how much more difficult it would be with two sick children. I do not usually engage in too much criticism or debate online. I do not like judging people since I do not know their motives or challenges, but some times people forget that what is a lovely hobby to us is a business to those people. They may even like roses, but their job is to sell roses to pay for their home, cars, medical insurance and food. They are just trying to make a living like everyone else.

I recently repotted my string of hearts and because it was so long I looped the vines a couple times and piled them on top of the pot for transport. But... I forgot to unloop it when I got it into the shelf and all the vines rotted. Every single one. I've attempted to save what I can and have several pots of cuttings going. I also have several large, rooted tubers with no vine attached. Will they grow if I leave them potted? Or should I toss them?

Dear (((((Mary3444))))),

How hard it is to spend extended time with a loved one who suffers chronic pain, especially when it's of the kind that we can do nothing to alleviate, except encourage them to pay attention elsewhere.

I hope that your heart has been able to find some peace in the intervening months.

How true it is ... that our loved ones are only here with us on loan.

May the happy memories help as you bring her back to mind.

I want to thank everyone for their thoughts. This year has been hard in many ways but knowing she is at peace is all I need. I thank God for my husband every day, without him I would go crazy. I never hear from my gs because of his father but I have learned to accept that also. Life has to go on & some things you can never change.

There's no way I can know how heartbroken you are, because losing a child must be the worst thing in the world. I wish you peace of mind. I know that's easy to say, but I really do hope you can someday soon find it.
