I went with State Farm when I started working at an auto dealership service/body shop. ALL the mechanics, service writers, and managers were with State Farm, different agents, but all State Farm. I asked why (since I just bought a car and needed insurance) and they said State Farm was the best if you were ever in an accident. They came out to inspect the fastest and didn't cheap out on the repairs. I recently was in an accident (other person's fault) and the other insurance agency was a total PITA to deal with. Actually I never even spoke to the other agency because they were NEVER available. My State Farm insurance agent called when he got the accident report to make sure I was OK and if I had any problems. I told him that I couldn't take my car to get repaired because I couldn't ever speak to the other agent. He was horrified, said get your car to whatever shop you want, get a rental, and don't worry about a thing. I did, and the check was waiting at the body shop when I picked up my car. The rental went longer than anticipated due to a part that came in late, and State Farm made sure that got paid for too, even though the other insurance agency's paperwork specifically said they would not pay for additional rental days due to lack of parts. I've been with them for 20 years, added my husband's car, home, and life insurance. Heck if they had health insurance I'd get that too!

I confess I hadn't seen the camel commercial all the way through; b/c DH mutes commercials--when he remembers! It's really very funny. The commercial that really makes me chuckle is the one with the owl couple; as the wife owl tells her husband owl something, he looks dopey and says "Who?"! That gets repeated every time she says something. (I think this may be a Geico ad, too.) This one really hits home with me, b/c my DH is hard of hearing, but refuses to admit it!!

I agree with Alisande and others on the car commercials, seeming to promote racing / speeding, what a message to send! :( Personally I can't stand the Progressive commercials; I find them highly annoying, and it's really time for an update. All the white, Flo's make-up, and it's not funny or entertaining at all. Just get them out of here! I do love the Bud commercials. There was especially one (maybe it was for Coke, ha!) during Super Bowl a few years back, where these guys on the road notice a truck that had accidentally left a side door open. They're reaching, trying to get closer, looking like they're trying to grab from the truck. Instead, as the one guy finally gets close enough, he pulls the door shut! Helpful citizen, that's great! Regarding pharmaceutical commercials, on one hand I wish they weren't legal and on the other I think they are useful in informing people that there are actually real, very serious side effects connected to some of them. And I'm not against (legal) drugs, but I'm cautious. But one time I literally thought one commercial was a comedy-show parody and not for real (I came into the room while hubby was watching, didn't know it was a commercial break). The list of side effects was so horrific I thought it was funny, thinking *they* (the comedians) really got the point across well. "If you have anxiety, would you not rather be deeply depressed and suicidal, and most likely dead before the week is over???" Then it turned out to be a real commercial for a real drug! I have a hard time understanding why anyone, after hearing that list, would want to even entertain the thought of using that specific drug. It was so over the line I can't believe this drug ever was approved, but that's a different topic. It was just jaw dropping, though.

Glad this thread is still alive. I was reminded of another favorite from about 3 years back - the Honda commercial that reprised Ferris Beuller's Day Off. I could watch that one over and over. Had fun just trying to find all the movie connections. I read today Honda will have another spot this year after being absent last year and it's supposed to be funny and involve sheep and Queen's 'Somebody to Love'.
