The "nose" they used is wooden plugs used on church pews or some cabinets.Purpose is to hide the screw for a more finished look. They come in packages at Home Depot or other hardware store, they actually have another "plug" that has little twist marks the length of them(1 1/2 in long & 3/8 in thick or thereabouts) & I think 1 of those cut in 2 in the center would work, my DH built a lot of stuff with wood so I have some in garage, can't remember what they are called. Even old Tinker Toys pieces cut off & make nose more pointy & paint orange. Could maybe get some at thrift shop. If you have 1 of those Am. flags that is worn out on the little dowel, that could be cut. Long wooden matches could be cut & filed to a point I use an inch wide nail file with foam center 1 side is course other finer,got it at beauty supply house. Don't like it for nails, too thick ! Great for crafts. Keep with paint brushes.Cheaper yet is go for walk & pick up little twig pieces. Those might look better natural if they have bark on them. Jan

Since the snowman is a "productive" critter, It helps to have the proper litter. Poop is a thing that should not be kept, Nor something under the rug to be swept. (how inept!) To dispose of the poop you need to consider Using this high tech Snowman Litter. But should you not use the proper mix, You'll undoubtably find yourself in a fix. Tis best done by putting this stuff in a mug Be careful and don't drop poop on the rug. Add poop to the cup, and pour in a slug, Of hot melted snowman right into that mug. We made three batches of peanut brittle, and my "student" was amazed that it was that easy! DH's uncle would be proud that his "recipe" is one of our annual traditions. Homemade Peanut Brittle 1 cup sugar 1 cup raw spanish peanuts 1 cup Karo clear syrup Heat the ingredients on medium heat in a heavy saucepan, bring to a boil and cook until peanuts have turned from white to golden. When you start to smell the aroma, it is getting close to being done. Remove from heat, add 1 teaspoon of baking soda and stir in. Mixture will foam. Beat until foam subsides then pour onto lightly greased cookie sheet spreading as you go. Let cool until it easily releases from the cookie sheet then break into pieces and enjoy. Mixture is very hot and sticky--do not get any on your skin. Pans will clean up easily if filled with hot soapy water and left to soak a few minutes. Have to tell you about DH checking out the table. He remembered when I had bought the little hats--he always trys to rush me out of Cracker Barrel before I find something I want! He asked where I got "those ruffled plates", meaning the chargers. And of course I replied "Oh I've had them for months, just hadn't had a chance to use them." He said "that's what you always say". I'm just amazed at how much more he notices now that he is retired! The first one didn't have any hilites or details hardly cause I just hurried and did it just to see how it would look and if my idea would work. ha I'll probably sand it down and re-do it. Or maybe just turn it over and paint the other side if I can pop the plug cover off. I like it pointing up because the jute and bells hang down better. Luvs!! Thank you!
