Just a dreary cold day here too, right now the thermometer reads 34. After making a batch of noodles today, I went with Cheryl to Amber's to eat up left over pizza and wings from last evening. I think my supper meal will just be some oatmeal and maybe toast and hot tea. Might toss in some raisins in the oatmeal too.

I had a luncheon to go to today and bridge tonight so I just had a small plate of tortollini with marinara sauce.

I am making a pot of the wonderful shrimp chowder and garlic bread to go with it.
It has been very dreary, damp and cold weather today, sun is supposed to come back tomorrow but tonight is definitely soup night.

Stupid seasons. Not sure when getting off work if it's time to make supper or go to bed. Blankets WILL be up over the nose again. Keeping it simple with hot dogs, fried taters & onions and beans. A big bottle of ketchup as the side. Still got 16 1/2 dozen cookies for snacks.

Sunday was a gorgeous day, so hubby took the little indoor grill onto the balcony and grilled some chicken breasts and a couple of hamburger patties.

I made chicken fajitas today.

Walnutcreek: What all went into your casserole? Will it feed you for more than one meal?

Angela: I looked up a couple of recipes and pictures for a taco casserole. Both looked and sounded pretty good.

Georgysmom: You are such a busy lady. At least you found time for a light dinner.

Raven: Wish I was there at your house and joining you for dinner.

OldFixer: I never get tired of hearing what you are having to eat. Especially the desserts.

Ellen: I love corn chowder. It's just as comforting to eat as you can get, isn't it?

Jasdip: So nice to cook extra meat and save on time fixing meals later in the week. I hope you enjoyed your fajitas.

rolled tacos and refried beans...oh did I mention the ton of cheese on top?? but we had to eat in the office tonight...dh decided to start shampooing the carpet at 29 degrees! and had to drag out the fans to dry the part he cleaned...bless him he trying to help get ready for our hosting of Christmas in 10 years??? one child got divorced and sold the big house, one lost their entire basement in the summer flood...and lets just say one dil is not a great hostess...so we're delighted! no hauling presents and stockings for 18!

I just opened and heated a can of Progresso "Lentil Soup with Andouille Sausage" and added a bit of chipotle pepper and adobo sauce to spice it up a bit.

Robert had a medical procedure yesterday afternoon and by the time we left the Dr.'s office, it was late and we were both hungry.

Our rule is that the person having the appointment gets to pick the restaurant, so we ended up at a nice little Japanese steak and sushi place where Robert wanted to have the hibachi experience.

He had the grilled scallop dinner and I had grilled veggies plus a couple pieces of sushi on the side. Sharing our table was another couple with three very young children, probably 2 (twin boys) and 4. I was filled with dread when they were seated with us but they were well behaved and therefore, cute!

You could tell that they were used to being out and about...can one use the word 'socialized' when discussing children? They were funny, happy to try everything on their plates, clearly enjoying themselves.

It was fun and very tasty!

Angelaid -- how do you make your Taco Casserole? I usually just do a dish with ground beef, beans, taco/chili seasoning in a skillet.

It is different every time. This one was just taco meat, macaroni shells and tons of cheese. Put in a casserole dish and heated in the oven for about half an hour.
