Chinese anyone??

Merry Christmas to all!
We are home alone and every Christmas we go out for Chinese dinner. Enjoy it so much.
Saturday we are headed down state and will spend the weekend with our family. That includes 5 grandbabies from 1 year to 7 years. What fun it will be!
On Monday we will head for Florida to escape the winter, lucky us, the best of both worlds.

We had Chinese buffet for lunch, just before our long country drive, an annual event for us.

Our restaurant was pretty busy!

It is taro stick. You can buy the taro at a oriental store, peel them like potatoes and fry. they costs a lot more than sweet potato or reg. potato. good luck!! Bellie

Hi there, What a nightmare! You might try posting this question over on the Trees forum. There have been numerous discussions about the best way to kill a tree, but the concrete question has me stumped. I have buried concrete septic tank covers, but they are small enought so that I have not had to pull them out. Good luck. Renee

organizing bookmarks in FF--totally lost!

I just did a quick check and it seems to work fine for me: CTRL-B to open bookmarks at left. Then drag the SYMBOL that's in front of the address into the bookmark FOLDER NAME (not into the body of the list). (You're basically dropping the link onto the folder's NAME). You can do the same thing with the bookmarks toolbar for your most used stuff. Be sure to rename it something short, so you can squeeze more links onto the toolbar. (right click the link, then properties...)

These are hilarious...and painfully familiar. For thirty years this how DH relays phone messages to me: DH: Your mother called. Me: What did she want. DH: Call her back. Me: Did she say for me to call her back. DH: No. Me: Well what DID she say? DH: I think she wants to know if we are going to be at the birthday party Sunday. Me: Well I assume you answered her question? DH: No, I didn't talk to her. Me: Well how do you know she was calling about the party? DH: I don't know, she left a message on the machine. Me: Oh, so you heard the message? DH: No, I'm just guessing that's why she called. And am I the ONLY one whose husband throws out what seems to be a random phrase and expects me to know wth he is talking about? DH at 2 pm: I wonder if we will hear from DS today. He said he might come over on Wednesday but I think he wants to get his washer fixed first. Me: Oh, ok. No further mention of DS until 9pm. Immediately following a conversation about the weather, DH: It will probably be Thursday. Me: What are you talking about? DH: DS! Me: What about DS? (I've forgotten all about the earlier comments) DH: He will probably get here on Thursday. Me: OMG, and you thought that when you mentioned something out of the blue about Thursday I would know what you were talking about? DH: I SAID, "DS probably won't get here till Thursday". Me: You did not. You just said, "It will probably be Thursday" as if I have ANY idea what you are babbling about. DH: I did say I was talking about DS. YOU are just getting forgetful. Me, half muttering: Someone just shoot me. DH: No, he's definitely not coming Tuesday, he said probably Wednesday.

Kathy, my first thought was Chinese too but found out The Sanctuary Inn had a Christmas buffet so myself and two neighbors went there. Everything was delicious!!

We had Chinese earlier this week, and we thought about a Christmas Story. Then, we came home and watched it. Tonight, we had a more Mexican influenced dinner. I think we will have to join you all in the Chinese dinner tradition next year! :)

We had Chinese take-out tonight for the first time on Christmas. With our flu bouts, neither of us had much appetite and no energy.

No Chinese for me. I had dug an almost year old strip steak out of the freezer. Thought it was about time to eat it. Just the dog and I together for Christmas. No, he didn't get a taste.

DH is Chinese and I'm (Irish/French background) Canadian, so we have the traditional North American turkey dinner for Christmas, as well as DH's home cooked Chinese food. His elderly father joins us every year for our Christmas dinner, and he loves getting to have both cuisines! And I must say, DH is an excellent cook and can make any dish you can order in a Chinese restaurant, except they're even more delicious!

No Chinese for us either, but we love it. We had the traditional foods for both Christmas eve and day. 2 different places and it was all good. Maybe we will do Chinese tonight. Thanks for the good idea.

probably will for new years! we have a fave take out place less than a mile from the house...

be safe on your trip south...wave as you drive past Detroit, lol...
