pattern needed

I am hoping someone can help me. I lost the pattern I need when we moved. I bought the cotton yarn to crochet it and when I looked for it, many of my patterns are missing.
I hope you can understand my description..... The pattern is a leaflet from Sirdar. I cannot remember if there was another name on it. It is a vintage pattern, perhaps from the 1970s to 1990s. the pattern is a crocheted top with Granny squares around the bottom. You make the squares first then sew together in a circle from there you pick up the stitches to finish the top.
It is long sleeved and has granny squares around the sleeve end. Be side the long pattern worn by a woman, is sitting (I think) is another with the same pattern only in short sleeves. I have searched all over the net but no luck. I wanted to make it for my Doctor, for Christmas. I am praying someone can help. It uses cotton yarn. I bought is DMC cotton Quick Finish.

Francy, I hope someone here can help you. If not, I strongly suggest you join Ravelry. It's free, they don't bother you with emails or sell your address, and it's a fabulous resource for yarnworkers (knit and crochet). I think someone there can find almost any pattern ever printed.

Try cutting the corner of 4 of the white tiles to create a diamond shape when you put the 4 together. Now place the 2x2 in that space. Do this every so often in your pattern until you reach the amount of 2x2's you want to use.

Hi there, I have made these before and they are easy peasy. For the hat band, cut a piece of your fabric 4" in width by 21 1/2" in length. Fold this in half lengthwise. Once sewn to the hat itself, it will be approx 1 1/2" finished in width. For the headcovering, (this will sound silly) measure "dinner plate + 2 1/2" for the diameter. So what I did was traced a dinner plate on a piece of paper and added 2 1/2" all around. Sew the ends of your band together to form a circle and then you will need to pleat the headcovering to fit the band as you sew. Hope that makes sense...
