I'm all done cooking except for Christmas Dinner and son is cooking the steak oscar.

Some friends have invited us to their home for a Low Country Boil tonight!

I'll cook a "Full English Breakfast" for Wes and me in the morning, and we're eating Christmas dinner at a Chinese restaurant.

I finally have that low carb pumpkin cheesecake in the oven. I hope it turns out ok. The recipe said to put the springform pan into another pan with boiling water. I don't have a pan big enough to put the springform pan in.

I'm going to make a batch of the brownie brittle as soon as the cheesecake comes out of the oven.

For dinner tonight, it will be bratwurst and deli coleslaw. Something easy.

Haven't fixed anything other than a skillet of hot dogs.. :). So far:

I will make pizza dough and pizza's later..

Probably roast up some cubed taters for breakfast casserole...and get some cinnamon roll dough made up.

Tomorrow's meal doesn't need to much pre done..keeping it simple.

Our tradition is to go for sushi on Christmas eve afternoon. Then we will nibble tonight. Tomorrow we are frying up a turkey. Then I have to work at midnight. So sleep will be order of the day also.

For once I have been 'up and out' and finished before noon. Had a Dr Appt sooo early. My sinus and toe infections are on the mend and shopping at Trader Joes was so fun and uncrowded with fully stocked shelves. I should do that more often. We are all set for a company breakfast for tomorrow.... Ham and the works, as well as the gifting thing. Keeping it simple here too!

I went out today and got the shrimp for our traditional Low Country Boil we have every Christmas Eve. Sam baked 2 loaves of pumpkin bread. The ham is thawed and ready to go in the oven tonight to have for breakfast in the morning.

Have I told you I HATE side by side fridges?? If not, I HATE side by side fridges, you can't get much in them...

I have no idea. My kids, son-in-law and grandsons have arrived. The first grader caught an awful intestinal thing. Everyone is sick except one. It also just wipes you out. I am tired, no appetite, but no intestinal complications that everyone else had/has. So my sister and her DH have backed out of our Christmas dinner. But we don't know what to fix and who will eat it.

I think we will try carry-out tonight. Maybe tomorrow we will feel like eating our Christmas dinner. It is also grandson's 7th birthday tomorrow.

I ran out and bought soups today in case anyone feels up to having soup. I bought the vegetables that my sister had been going to bring. We had planned to celebrate the birthday today, but he wants to wait for his real birthday. Therefore, we won't miss the pies my sister was going to bring and will have birthday cake for dessert. It will all work out! I just hope we are well and have the energy!

A tourtiere and roasted carrots, onions and brussels sprouts. Dessert will be a candy cane cheesecake.

Today was bitterly cold and sunny. Going down to -16C (3 F) The wind chill will make it feel a lot colder.
Hubby made 2 pots of chili today.....one that he likes with the kidney beans, etc in the slow cooker. The other kind I like.....no beans, but jalapenos, cumin, cayenne.....a Southwest flavour, simmered on the stove.

I made scalloped potatoes, some pan fried pork chops and a quick steamed broccoli with lemon juice and garlic.

Finally made P-nut butter bon bons. But I'll agree that side by side fridge is DUMB.

Yes, I kept my side by side refrigerator till it croaked and I got one with the french doors and freezer in the bottom, two ice cube makers. I really like it had it about a year I guess. Never again a side by side refrigerator. We are still working away here for Christmas, I have rather slowed down to a snail's pace.....

I have a large side by side..I went to pyrex refrigerator dishes for easy stacking and organizing a few months ago..much better..but my next fridge will be a big French door get up.

I apparently am making cheesecake tonight now too..

I may just make those peanut butter bon bons to make me happy..lol..

Although my friend gave me a huge mess of seized Kahlua flavored dark chocolate..I have heavy cream..I think I will try and get a good ganache going..and make truffles..

So we'll see what I get to tonight..or I guess tomorrow..

Pizza's are baking..

I absolutely love my big 4 door/drawer French door refrigerator~...so easy for big pans of stuff.

Our Christmas is not until Saturday, so everyone has had their fill of turkey and ham, so by request, I am fixing smothered steaks, mashed potatoes, gravy, etc. The girls are pitching in this year and bringing side dishes. This is the first year I have let them, but guess at 72, it is time to accept some help.
