Last minute at Walmart

Just got back. I had to park waaaaaay back in the area that usually has no cars but was filling up even as I parked.
I wanted fresh seedless grapes. I got fresh seedless grapes (thank you, California), and enough walking to count as exercise :)

I need to run out to but I think I can get what I need at CVS and avoid the crowd. I am not going anywhere near shopping centers. They just showed air views over the malls and they are packed, every parking lot was full.

I had to do the same. I'm having some folks over for dinner Saturday and will be making the braised brisket in advance. Needed mushrooms and there is NO WAY I'm going near the stores on Friday.....or Saturday.

Our store was busy (around 9:30 AM) but not intolerable. I'm sure it's worse now.

My dearest father would wait until the last possible moment to do his shopping every single year. It was his self appointed task to buy all kinds of 'Santa presents', games, silly toys, special candies, anything that he thought would amuse us and keep us occupied. He would come back whistling, lock himself up in the spare room with wrapping paper and tape, absolutely filled with holiday cheer. He was such a dear, sweet man. It was so difficult to find any smidgen of joy around my mother, but he managed to generate a warmth in the house during Christmas that we were all able feel the glow.

I love heuchera. They do great for me, especially Kassandra. I usually cut off the seed stems. I have found them to be most beautiful during a little breeze when the bright undersides are exposed. Like petticoats. :) Here’s one of my Kassandras this morning in the shade. As you can see, the little one in the rear is underperforming; I need to move it.

I stopped at CVS for some last minute stocking stuffers for the grands....I had to laugh a little. It was nearly all men. (no offense, I was there too!)

We have been home an hour from making a 'quick' trip to Costco.... across town. It's so quiet here in our part of town, but dense traffic near there. Shopping and parking was ok at 10:30, but by noon (we had a (naughty()polish dog for late breakfast...yummmmmm) it was bedlam in the parking lot, and the traffic coming home. In for the holidays now, but I really wanted a pumpkin pie and I know Costco's is as good as mine. Hope everyone is ready for the big day and safely tucked into their holiday digs.

SIL (my Christmas shopping buddy from another post) and I ran to the Verizon store and then Walmart. Yep, crazy crowded by doable. Not like Black Friday shopping!

Then 3 hours later I had to run to the grocery store because I found out I'm getting company this evening so needed a few things.

I'm in for the night......maybe. Haha. It's so rainy, foggy, ugly out it doesn't even feel like Christmas. Oh well, son is home, daughter and her boyfriend will be home tonight or tomorrow.....then it will be Christmas for me!

Blessed, Merry Christmas everyone. I truly hope everyone has some joy in their heart.
