How to make pictures smaller

I just posted a picture in Jasdip's shortbread post and the picture is huge, I didn't know it would turn out so large. I don't know how to make it smaller.

If you posted it first on an image-hosting site like Photobucket, you can resize it there.

I can show you how to manipulate the size if you post using HTML code and a URL.

But if you clicked on Choose File when posting the message and had GardenWeb insert the picture for you, I don't think there's a way to specify file size. Any resizing would have to be done before you post.

If you right click on the picture, you can open w/paint. From there you can resize it smaller or larger. Change the percentage size to a smaller number than what you have there. Hope this helps

Oh, I didn't see the picture before (I was at work and we can't see pics). Now I see the buds you're talking about. My Lacunosa is pretty big, and the it's in a 4.5" (diameter) and 3.5" (height) pot (COMPLETELY rootbound). I might pot it up also, just because the roots seems to be taking over the whole pot. But I am so hesitant to do anything while it's blooming (but when does it NOT bloom??). My buds sometimes do the same thing that yours do. I'm not sure why. I keep my Lacunosa constantly moist (not wet, but always moist). I agree with Ines though...I think yours might be drying out too much. Hi Badgergirl! Thanks for thinking of me and for trying to help this non-techie. I had no idea you could do a software update so I tried, but without success. I can't find anyplace to click "software update." I'd love to be able to use so many of the apps that I can't download with an IOS lower than 4.0. Here's what I see when I go to the "General" tab in the Settings icon. About Sounds Network Bluetooth Location services Auto lock Passcode lock Restrictions Home Date and time Keyboard International Accessibility Battery percentage Reset Under none of these tabs can I find a place to update software. Can you please steer me in the right direction from here? Am I missing something? I'm starting to wonder if I have some reject iPad as I have other issues with it also like the generic "Mail" tab not connecting to my email anymore. I love this little gizmo, but it's starting to annoy me all the things I can't do on it that others seem to be able to do. Thank you!

I just realized that your version was tiny to begin with. I did what's called a "Save to Web" version in Photoshop which makes a smaller, quality image but I'm not sure it really made much difference since it was small to begin with. What kind of cover page is he working with? Something in Word? Powerpoint? Facebook? Excel? If you need a particular width, I can do that instead. Right now it's 8.889 inches wide. Jodi-

Rug, throw pillows first.....I think the ottoman is just too big....maybe a rectangular one but do like the tables your mother has now. Maybe just use one. Leave chairs, as is....just brighten them with throw pillows and throws. Looks like the TV will be over the fireplace....won't it be too high? I can't see right side of the fireplace but looks like TV could be on either side, on a nice credenza, slanted towards the couch. Lastly, would your mom be open to new drapes? I think cream or white like her couch would give her room a clean look.

I did the "choose file" when I posted. I had this picture on FB and I should have just linked from there but I downloaded it to put it on here. On FB it wasn't this large.

Yes, as you might already know you can click on your photo in FB and then right-click to save the image's URL. Then you can use HTML code to embed the photo in your KT post.

I should have added that you can set the width to 500 to make a horizontal photo as wide as the text in your post:

With a vertical orientation, you'll probably want to make the width narrower:

I use irfanview, it's free and I can size and edit photos with it. Then I post them with the browse button just above the reply box directly from my PC.
