How much do you feed your cat? I'm new @ this...

I know caloric intake is based on how active a body is. So, based on these facts how much dry, canned food and kitty treats(all food from a pet store) should my new kitty cat be eating. What's normal? :0)

* My male cat is about 3 to 5 years old.
*He's neutered & declawed indoors only.
* Likes to follow us everywhere & play with his string we drag around for him. Runs crazily through the house, entertaining himself: wide eyed, chases shadows & laser lights.
*Sleeps a lot! He is up during the night several times, patting us to see if we're awake. We pet him & cuddle him up & he goes back to sleep.

I have 2 water bowls, 1 upstairs, 1 down. I leave dry food out at both stations all the time. Then I feed him canned food 4-5 times a day. He likes these "digestive" treats, "Greenies", tuna flavor. He'd eat "more" canned food if I made it available. He's big and bony and didn't eat much the first 2 weeks I had him. This is his 3rd week and I knows he's "catching up"....but.....

He'll eat "anything", but what quantity should he be eating?
