I have one, and really like it, but I've only had it for a few weeks. I wear sandals/flip flops every single day so my feet really need it. Just be careful where you use it as the dry skin dust flies everywhere! I started using it outside.

In the advertisement for it you can see the dry skin flakes flying out. It looks like it would work pretty well. I always put a big towel under my feet when I use my pedi pod thing. I would like one of these depending on the price.

The $10 Ped Egg captures the dry skin flakes so you can dump them in the garbage. You do have to move your hand when you use it though. :-)

I ordered something like it from QVC. battery operated. I watched the show about it many times, and finally ordered it. It arrived a few days ago, and in reading the directions, it says diabetics should not use it and my very efficient house keeper disposed of the shipping stuff, so I guess I now have one, but am afraid to use it. BTW, No where in the promoting of this device does it say it is not for diabetics.

I would assume they simply don't want to risk any type of litigation for a diabetic foot injury is why the disclaimer is there.
That said if you have good sense and no existing foot sores I think you would use it with caution and not sand your foot down to bleeding. Some diabetics lack some feeling in the feet so caution must be taken. I am diabetic but I would not hesitate to use it because I am able to determine when to stop and not damage my foot tissues.

Much like they put a warning on an iron, not to iron clothes while on your body! Some people apparently don't have good sense so warnings are inserted in the instructions.

I like the Ped Egg. Yes, Susan, you have to move your hand! It's a lot of work (not)!! It's very satisfying to dump all that dead skin. Diabetics have to be extremely cautious about foot injuries because they can be very difficult to heal.

I have the Ped Egg too. I like that it collects the dust and honestly it works better than this with a little more work. But I don't like the "grating" feeling of it so the Amope works better for me. It's a lot more expensive though.

I just ordered the Emjoi for $19.95 at ebay.
It actually sounded better and was cheaper then the amope.

Do those of you who need one of these tools put something on your feet at night, plus socks? Just wondering.

It doesn't help to wear socks or add any creams. I have the bottom of foot callouses/corns.

I think they sell one like it at Bed Bath and Beyond it was $20, I think.

I thankfully don't have any calluses or corns or bunions, I do get dry skin in the winter. I have and use the ped egg one. And I use shower foot products and loofah. I can't stand to wear socks to bed. I love having a hot wax treatment at the spa on my feet and legs.
I have been lucky so far with my diabetes and not had any problems with my feet other than some neuropathy issues. I am extremely careful with them and don't do anything to cause sores or blisters. It's all about comfort.

Thanks raven. It's funny how those 'warnings' can strike terror in one's mind when they actually apply to you. I do have neuropathy (hate it), and it worries me, so I do have a sort of love/hate relationship with my feet. And, I do have callouses for the first time in my life, and have been 'treating' them for a long time for an alleged heel spur as well as the callouses. I will give it a very brief try soon.

I do put Cetaphil Cream on my feet, with socks when I go to bed, but hate wearing socks in bed, so they are usually lost by morning. It does help.

I've been using a wonderful product on my heels called Callex. I usually order a few jars at a time from drugstore.com. I ordered a month ago and Callex was having a rebate of $4 for each jar. It's about $15 and I think some chain drugstores have it. I shower at night so put it on afterwards with socks and it is absorbed by the time I go to bed. I do use the ped egg periodically....a little more frequently in the summer.

After seeing the ads for AMOPE on TV, I looked at a lot of different brands and finally decided on the emoji corded model. I like the idea of not having to continuously replace the batteries. I have the per egg and another model of the same type thing and they work, but I have some serious calluses. I scrape and sand and use creams and lotions, wear socks to bed and still my feet crack on the sides and bleed. Add that to my spur on the top of one foot, fallen arches, arthritis and metatarsal cuneiform exostosis, and you can see me limping most days. I am determined to conquer the calluses. My emoji is wrapped and under the tree, so I will get to use it tonight for the first time.

That's what I get for trying to type on my iPad mini. I can spell much better, LOL. I won the town spelling bee, for gosh sakes! Of course, that was 50 years ago.
