I LOVE it!

I have a grey henley and dark brown scrunch boots with a little heel...that's what I'd wear it with(IF I had black boots that would be better). Good find Susan!!!!!!! YAY~ !!!

I shop the ARC thrift store. A couple of weeks ago I got Lucy work out pants for $6...they retail for $89 when I got home & Googled them....never heard of that brand either.

Then the 58" pair of new in the package Bali custom mini blinds for $2.50 ea....and so on.....

After X-mas is the best time to shop thrift stores....

Our Value Village charges the same price as what you'd buy at WalMart, e.g. men's jeans for $15, when hubby can get new ones for $12 at WM. I quit buying clothes at VV, but do sometimes get something for the kitchen. And taxes on top of that!

There is a good quality true Thrift/Charitable store that doesn't charge taxes, that's my first place to go. I found a great necklace with multiple chains that I loved, for hubby to give me for my birthday.

jasdip, we had Value Village here too but they closed up a few years ago and I suspect people finally figured out the prices were just out of whack. That's silly to pay more for old and used! What kind of sense does that even make!? That's how the one here was too. I just stopped going there unless I had something that I just needed to find that was no longer made anymore and just hoped to find it there.

I ordered the attached sweater yesterday....I would totally wear it with that skirt. I'm planning on belting the sweater.

Congrats on the great finds! I've never shopped for clothes at SA, but love to occasionally stop and look for vases or kitchen/dining 'stuff'. My latest great find was a cute one-quart Revere copper-bottom saucepan with lid in perfect condition and 50% off... total price was $1.99 and I love it!

I'd try to find a white peasant blouse to go with that skirt! maybe even one w/ a peplum would be fantastic. Don't know what luck you'll have finding anything like that though. Otherwise, something like a simple scoop-neck top w/ optional over-cardigan would probably look great. Don't forget to add some long strands of beads and/or hoop or dangly earrings! :)

Yesterday I found a great fitting pair of Gloria Vanderbuilt Amanda jeans, and a very pretty, like new. white long sleeved embroidered Christie and Jill blouse. Total cost...$2.65.

I think the blouse might be 'dated' as a lot of the used Christie and Jill blouses are sold on line as vintage. I think it will look smashing worn with jeans though.

This morning I went to the Epilepsy thrift store. Unlike Value Village, they don't charge taxes and their prices are generally cheaper anyway. I was only going to look at the sweaters but as soon as I got in they announced that everything in the store was half price. So I looked at everything! I got a summer purse for $2, 2 pairs of jeans for $3.75 each and 4 tops for $2.75 each. I also got a few Xmas things. Yay for deals!

Chemocurl, yesterday I tried on a beautiful Christie & Jill blouse. Long sleeved, ecru, silky, embroidered in the same ecru and banded in satin in the same color. I loved it, but it was just too BIG. (Too big is rare! LOL) I tried to tell myself it was "oversized," but it looked floppy so I passed it up.

Casey, I'll bet you have fun shopping for clothes these days. I remember how I felt after losing weight--almost 20 years ago. The thrill has dimmed somewhat now that I'm noticeably older. :-)

I would wear a black fitted turtleneck and a wide black belt with that skirt. Or a grey belt, but it would be wide--3 inches at least. That's my go-to look with a peasant skirt. Great finds and great prices.

I did a lot of thrifting last week by my Mom's house. I found several great items. One was a large platter with dachshunds on it and some of the dogs were actually hot dogs. Like a man and woman hot dog. It was really cute and I'm going to give it my niece because she got a doxie puppy a couple months ago. It was 4.00. Then I noticed it said Lane and Co. 1958 on the back and I looked it up and found it on Ebay. I think it's just adorable.

I found a pair of high heeled wedge shoes, black velvet, with the price tag still on and never worn-2.50. But my best find was a St. John knit sweater and skirt set for 35.00!! Probably retailed for about a thousand dollars, and looks brand new.

A while back I bought a brand new pair of Steve Madden ugg boots that have the Love tattoo art design on the back of them. Real leather, in my size, perfect, paid around $5. This is the exact same ones here on this link with sale price as $99.
I have a lot of good stuff I have bought at thrift stores. Always fun to shop and find a great surprise.

Very pretty skirt and I bet there are many ways to wear it! It may be hard to wash and dry but for the price, you still made out. I agree with Nicole. Boots would look great with it.

That's a great skirt and I easily see you in a simple turtleneck or scoop neck sweater with a chain necklace or one of your natural stone necklaces. But I could also see it paired with a white gauzy fabric blouse. I like sleeps idea of wide belt too.

Are you planning to wear it to any holiday parties this season?

I was hoping to wear it to a party tomorrow night. It's Dry Clean Only, but I figured I'd fudge it with a "dry cleaning" sheet in the dryer. However, the instructions say not to use it on velvet. I'd been concerned about the effect of the dryer on the metallic gold threads. So maybe I won't be wearing it this weekend. It feels clean and smells fine, but I never wear second-hand clothing without washing or dry cleaning it first.

Funny, just the other day I saw a picture of myself wearing a wide white leather belt. I thought, Those were the days. I was 25. LOL These days my waist isn't something I'd want to call attention to!

I don't usually have much luck finding clothes at our thrift stores.

Friday night I stopped by and found a lovely maxi skirt at one store that actually fit. I love maxi skirts, so I was thrilled. Saturday morning, I stopped by another one that I don't usually go to since it's out of the way. I found a beautiful Coldwater Creek jacket. It is styled like a safari jacket, but it is Tencel made to look like denim, so it is very lightweight. Perfect fit! To make it even better, it was $5 and they had a 25% off special, so I got it for $4 incl. tax! Having seen Coldwater Creek's catalogs, I'm sure this jacket was probably $75 or more new.

alisande, your skirt is lovely. I would wear with boots and a simple sweater/turtleneck with a long necklace for winter.

Sounds like great finds, Kittiemom! The top I found on Friday is from Coldwater Creek too. It's a crinkled print in subdued blues and greens, and greyed green maxi skirt I found goes well with it. It'll be the perfect outfit for a late-afternoon party I'm going to today at a house in the woods.

I had a half hour wait for a prescription at CVS the other day,so i went to the next shopping center over and checked out the thrift store there.I got 4 of the bathsheet size towels there that came from a spa,the spas name is not embroidered on them,just the Manufacture tag that says Spa.The towels are in excellent shape,no spots,stains etc,in fact they looked brand new and i got them for 2.00 each,so all i spent was 8.00.Can't beat that with a stick.

Susan,funny you should say that,as i do wear a mumu most days,unless i have to go out then i put on my jeans,or whatever fits the occassion,or where i'm going.

I bought 2 new ones this summer from the "Carol Wright catalog".I got a turquoise print one and a purple print one.Want to get a few more for next year.Soooooooooooooooo comfy.And for my cold feet i bought co-ordinating sockettes.(to the ankle)
