unexpected expenses

Well, Friday morning, my car's heater fan quit working. Friday, when I left work, we had a freezing fog, and I had to get a ride home, because I couldn't see out my windshield.

It wasn't a fuse...darn it.....

I took it in to a recommended repair shop Saturday, but of course they weren't able to do anything until Monday. So, Monday, I had to stay home from work.

It ended up being the blower motor, the most expensive part it could be...there was power going to the motor, but no one was home if you know what I mean.

So, while it was there, I had them change the air filter, oil and rotate the tires. They also did a safety inspection.

In all, it cost me nearly $300 two days before Christmas.

But, the shop was very helpful, friendly and didn't charge me what they said the estimate would be, and my car has a clean bill of health and I'm good to go!

Not what I'd planned on spending money on for the holidays, but I feel good knowing my car is running well.
