I like Chowhound.com and have been going there (1999) almost as long as GW (1997)! It's primarily food based but has topical boards. There is a General Topics and a Not About Food Board that are similar to KT. The other boards are regional and/or topic specific. They are moderated so if things get out of hand, the topic gets locked.

I haven't tried Reddit.com, but it's very popular. Tons of topics.

There's lots of forums out there but you have to be selective. Unfortunately there are trolls and extremely rude ugly people that hide behind their computer and do their nasty work on the innocent nice people.
You might look at senior forums. I am involved in several technology /computer forums, so looking for ones that are hobby related is a good option. Try a Google search for forums and what ever you are looking for. Like garden forums, or general discussion forums, illness based forums, and age based like senior or over 50 forums.

There is a forum called For The Halibut under Fishing for Deals dot com that is like the KT. They have another there called Kiss My Bass to post when you are aggravated about something, a Lean On Me for support and prayers, Hooked on Health, Fish Sticks-cooking, recipes, and more

healthboards.com has many different forums where people with medical conditions can interact and share information with each other.

diabetesdaily.com is a group of very nice people sharing support and information about diabetic life.

I am admin at a quiet, general topic forum called Fuzzy Logic. The site occasionally takes on a 'raunchy' quality so not for the easily offended.

Trolls are quite crunchy and delicious and after their entertainment value grows cool, they mysteriously disappear :-)

Most of us go way back, but we are also stale. New members would be a boost. C'mon over!

I have gone on several forum type Face Book pages,they have many almost anything you could be interested in, If you are a FBer, just do a search. I have gone on many of the FB's of tv shows that I like also. I used to go on Sister Wives FB page, I had to get off the peeps got all weird with me because I like the family and they were bugging me they thought I was a Plig??? So not are all user friendly but most are.

what type are you looking for? I use Google to find them. Like if you wanted a women's message board just ask google and it will find them for you

pkponder I agree you had certainly mentioned that it was not for everyone and could get raunchy.. . You go to forums at your own risk and can't blame anyone else. Every one has the right to express their opinions and especially if they own the forum lol.

Frankly, there are a lot of topics on a lot of forums that I simply tune out because they offend me or hold no interest.

Someone named grannytoo emailed me but does not have their email address activated in GW so I can't reply to her email.

lov_mkitchen, if you mean awaiting approval at Fuzzy Logic, I just checked and there are no memberships awaiting approval.

lov_mkitchen-I posted on a thread asking about the 8 days. The couple that runs the site have been less active battling a health issue, but posted recently. Maybe that will move things along.
