I had the IPhone and it is perfect for the Pocket!!

I just turn up the volume on the GPS, and listen to the directions. Seems to work.

Bigger than I'd like! I really miss my old (and I mean old) Pantech flip phone. It probably measured about 2 inches by 3 and a half inches. I don't usually wear clothing with pockets and I would just slip the phone into my bra, LOL. Of course, it didn't do anything besides make phone calls, but that's all I cared about at the time.

The phone I have presently is 2 and three quarters by 5 inches. I like my phone and all the things it does, but I sure miss the old days.

I think GPS devices of the kind made by Garmin or Tom Tom do a better job and are easier to use than a smartphone. What if the phone rings? What if using it runs your battery down and you need to make a call? Will the phone you choose allow you to use it to navigate and listen to music at the same time? Etc.

Single purpose devices are also cheaper to use. For a hundred bucks or a bit more, you're done. If using a smartphone, you need to consider the cost of your data package and if whether your navigation use will require you to buy a larger data allowance.

I've used both, that's my preference. (Actually, my real preference is having GPS capability built-in as part of a car's factory equipment, but I do use a handheld device or phone with rented cars)

I have a iphone and I wish it were a bit smaller. I carry it in my pocket and it can be a bit awkward at times.

I tried to put the tiny phone in my bra. It fit fine, and I might carry it there while I'm at home, I'd feel self conscious if it rang while I was in the grocery store and I had to get it, will put it in my purse while I'm out.

I use a BlackBerry Q10. Don't know the measurements offhand, but I like the size of my former phone (BlackBerry Bold 9700) better. My car has a built-in navigation system. I would never purchase a phone based on its GPS.

I have the new Iphone 6 and find it uncomfortably large to hold in my hand while making a call. My old iphone 4 was a more comfortable size. The screen is nice and big though and would be great for GPS use although I still use my Garmin when needed.

I have a phone! Cell phone that is. Just a phone. No internet no music, just phone. When I am at home, it has a dedicated spot on the corner cabinet, just like old fashioned phones had. ;)

When I am out, it is in my purse, unless I forgot it.

When I am on my bicycle, it is in the pocket that hangs off the top tube.

Sometimes, I am busy, and I don't answer when it rings.

No worries, it tells me who called, and when. ;)

I do have a GPS (Edith) that is not working good anymore. I will prolly get a new one some day, when I don't have better use for my money. ;)

PS, I do like paper maps, and am a AAA member. They publish excellent maps.

PPS, I forgot to say, my phone is a flip phone.

I have the iPhone 5. It's a slim phone, but I have it protected in an Otterbox which makes it thicker. My husband has a Samsung phone, with is like a little tablet. LOL It looks so big compared to my phone.

my phone is a flip phone. DH has the same. The guys at work laugh at him everytime he uses it. I don't care what people think of it. I don't need the internet. I don't even like talking on the phone so it is just right for me. We have a land line because sometimes we can't get service. Anyone else that comes here can't get it either with their phones. Our phones are cheaper and so is our bill. That's all that matters to me.
