At Thanksgiving, I prepared the entire meal (other than 1 veggie) at my house & my kids transported it all over to my son's larger home for our dinner. It was the 1st time in 19 years that we were all together for Turkey Day, so I had a ball cooking!
For Christmas, I'll be staying at my son's house on Xmas Eve and do NOT have to cook on Christmas day. I believe DS is fixing Baked Ham Dinner. I still need to contact Glenda about her Pull Apart bacon Bread-made in a bundt pan..for Xmas breakfast. I made it one year but it seemed greasy..found 2 recipes-one was made w/1 loaf of frozen bread dough-the other with 3 tubes of the refridgerated buttermilk biscuits. Not sure which is hers. I have made several kinds of cookies & my homemade Bacon dressing & my Zesty French dressing for the dinner-as well as for gifts. "Happy Christmas Feasting", KT'ers!

Not sure yet. I love ham so I bought a ham and will make a honey glaze for it. Hot fruit salad, some kind of potato and creamed spinach for sure. I didn't have the spinach for Thanksgiving and my son was crushed. Will probably make apple pie and assorted cookies. That's all I know for now. a couple of small appetizers. I will think about it this weekend. I have my Mexican train group and hubbies coming tonight for hors d'oeuvres and dessert so I have to get through that before I think about Christmas day.

It will be beef...price of it this year is several $ a pound more than last..so instead of prime rib..it may be a New York Roast.

Probably au gratin taters, spinach salad and honey wheat rolls.

Probably pizza Christmas Eve..

Seafood crepes. Some type of dinner roll, a veggie and some type of pie. I haven't decided on the veggie yet. Probably pecan pie.

We are having a Sadler brand smoked beef brisket. I bought a small boneless ham to go with it. I will make homemade dinner rolls, some kind of potato, and haven't decided on the rest. My daughter is making a chocolate eclair dessert.

I haven't a clue what is being brought to Brother and sister in laws home but I know as usual its pot luck and my dh is bringing desert and deviled eggs. I'd like to put in a request for strawberry desert . umm yum.
I would rather have pot luck anyway because each meal is always new and wonderful!
We're going to my moms later this month. I'll have to bring something that keeps well on a 6 hour trip.

I am cooking Christmas dinner for about 10 people.

-turkey & gravy
-dressing (I don't stuff the bird, I make my own using bread crumbs, butter, onions, savoury & cranberries, on the stove)
-carrots
-turnip
-potatoes
-salt meat
-pease pudding (maybe, not a lot of people eat it)
-cabbage
-2 types of cranberry sauce (jelly & whole berry)
-various relishes/chow/pickles/beets

Haven't decided on desserts yet, I usually make 2 or 3. Or I might buy some from Costco.

Chinese food at a restaurant. We started a new tradition last year. We will do a turkey breast and stuffing one day this next week.

I think that Robert wants a rib roast but I would vote for lobster. We'll decide this evening; both are something we rarely have so it will be a treat whichever we decide.

It will just be the two of us, so no desserts.

Main meal: Ribs, rice pilaf, and broccoli casserole. Cheesecake and apple pie.

Appetizers include shrimp cocktail, fresh cut fruits, nuts, cheese & crackers.

Might make a biscuits and gravy casserole for breakfast.

We all contribute to the big meal, my part is a Sadlers tendersplits smoked beef brisket and a slow cooker of Anasazi beans with ham hocks. One sister is making a huge pot of seafood gumbo, and a bunch of other stuff including potato salad, lima beans, rice, sweet potatoes another sister is bringing dirty rice, ham, and I don't know what all else. There's always an abundance of food and deserts and drinks.

Trying to perfect the menu. Prime rim is so rich, I don't want other menu items to take away from it, just enhance it.

After the three-day fiasco preparing the ill-fated "Thankful-this-day-is-over" meal, (which ended with deep burns to my left hand) I declared myself off limits to huge holiday meal prep unless I have three hard-working helpers.

We are going to be low-key for Christmas. He is going to make his favorite breakfast - venison sausage, eggs, biscuits - I will add fresh fruit and oatmeal for myself.

Then we're going to sit in the livingroom, read our Christmas cards, watch the snow and birds, drink hot tea, and decide on a movie to watch at the theater.

Afterward we're pulling a page from the movie "A Christmas Story" and going to a lovely Chinese restaurant. I'm pre-ordering Peking Duck. I've never had it, but I'm hoping it's similar to my recipe for "Drunk Duck" which takes three days to prepare with Brandy, spices, soaking, massaging, drying, and slow roasting.

I'm looking forward to the day.

Steaks and baked potatoes, all of the meat eaters will be happy. I will be happy to not really have anything to do that day! Doing dinners on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday!

My dear husband declared cooking a big meal on Christmas day as unconstitutional in our family many years ago. So a big sit down dinner we do not have. Ham, baked a day or two before and maybe some potato salad and assorted sandwich fixins along with grab and go snacky things all prepared ahead.

Peking Duck is wonderful! It's completely cooked, then cut up and re-assembled on the carcass. We generally have it for New Years dinner. My Christmas dinner will be turkey breast, gravy and mashed potatoes for the carnivores and chick peas and other vegetables for the vegans.

We're going to my BIL's & they are making the main meal. FIL is cooking prime rib; BIL is frying a turkey. SIL always makes macaroni & cheese. Hopefully DH's mom will make dressing. I know there will be a salad & some other veggies. We're bringing dessert (cheesecake) & wine.
