Which outfit should I wear to a pirate party?

I know, the tag from under my right arm needs to be tugged in, and I could wear the same hat with the skirt.

I am wearing black boots with either.

Oh, and yeah, I need a different bra with the off white blouse as well.

the hat! Maybe a red sash tied around your hair. I
don't think it needs the hat. But if you wear number 2,
I'd wear the hat! lol

Sure it's OK if you have a plug in the deck. I have seen people use a bungee tie to hold the discharge chute up out of the way when they don't want to take it off. It can get lost pretty easily.

That's actually an interesting question. Most of the major vendors are slowly transitioning from grafted plants to own root, even for their bareroot offerings. I would venture to say that most bareroot floribundas that you can purchase now at any nursery are in fact "own root" varieties. With hybrid teas, the process is not so far along, so only the newer varieties of hybrid teas (which were selected for introduction in part because of their ability to grow vigorously on their own roots). The only list I have found as to which currently offered bareroots are actually "own root" varieties (as opposed to grafted on Dr. Huey) is on the website of S&W Greenhouses. S&W's bareroot season is over, but their list is still accurate, and it will tell you which varieties to look for at your own nurseries (or any other nursery that still has bareroots from the major wholesalers -- Star, J&P, Weeks). In short, if S&W had them as "own roots" then so does everyone else who is selling them from the same wholesalers. So go to the link and pick any of these varieties in the "own root" list from any major nursery, as long as it has one of the major wholesalers tags on it (Star, J&P, Weeks) and you will be getting the biggest "own roots" that are currently for sale. These will all generally be two year old field grown plants. Some nurseries have them as true bareroots (with no soil on them), but they also can be offered in "milk cartons" or peat pots or even something the nursery itself has potted up and still be the same stock that came in with the 2010 bareroot season. And they will all be bigger than anything you can get from the Vintage, ARE, RVR or any of the vendors that grow their stock from cuttings -- those are generally all one year plants, or less, in the case of "bands." But do not get the "container grown" plants that J&P is now selling -- those will be one year old greenhouse-grown plants in square plastic containers and not as big as the "own root" bareroots. The other option if you want really big own roots is to get them from RVR in what they call the 5 gallon size -- those will be two year old plants, generally. Shipping on that size is very costly though, so you are better off financially getting the bareroot "own root" varieties from your local nursery. Help me outfit my small mudroom

No time to respond to each post right now, but they are all great ideas. I'm going to be studying them all for the next few days and try to put something final together. Who knew that this little room would be the one causing me the most angst in the whole house? After looking at tons of mudroom photos, I've decided what I don't like about any of them - they are magnets for clutter! And military-esque organization (a la my mother's house - a place for everything and everything in its place) is what I long for in this new house. Ugh. But wait, isn't that what a mudroom is for, really? Containment of all the clutter? So, I guess whenever someone can't find the flashlight, camera, USB plug, tractor key, hair tie, field trip form, overdue book, Barbie's left arm, etc., at least now I will be able to just say "Look in the mudroom" rather than launch an all-out Search & Rescue mission of the whole house like we do now. Right? Right? Anyway, in my photo search, I came across a blog with some great design directions and ideas regarding mudrooms. Just wanted to share it with everyone. Link below. Thanks! More random ranting: LOL Robo about the WASP weddings. There's a bit of WASP vs ethnic and also introvert vs extrovert going in my relationship with SO. I am however, half WASP, really waspy WASP, (as in Anglo Saxon protestant, not Teutonic protestant) so I am used to some of the restraint, to say the least . . . :) I also found out that the color for the wedding is not "red" per se, rather it is crimson, so the shirt/tie combo I liked will have to go back regardless. On the plus side, with a light grey shirt, the suit and shirt will also pass for our wedding, so that will save us some money from having to buy two shirts. I only suggested the red shirt combo because it was on super sale. Here's a photo so you can see what I was envisioning with SO's dark coloring. Surprisingly, SO liked the flouncy floral dresses, particularly the one with the grey background. He thought they would be flattering for my figure. He opined, not without merit, that an a-line dress might be too form-fitting and emphasize my less-than-perfectly-proportional hips. Possibly not, but only trying on will tell. I think I will order all three dresses.

Another vote for the red. After seeing these pictures, I think a lot of us at the KT will be taking up bicycle riding. Or wishing we'd started a few years ago. LOL You look terrific!!

The red one! It reminds me of "The Pirates of the Caribbean" ride at Disney in the part where the pirates are chasing the women around. So, beware. You may be chased :-) I like the hat!

Depends on the look you want. The red shows you off better and is a great 18th century bar wench look, but the dark one is certainly much more of a pirate look.

Now, not going a scientific route... of counting the votes... I have decided to go with the red one. :)

Thanks for the opinions. I am looking for a scarf/head wrap, but may stick with the hat. Already got that. :)

Both the ladies that loaned me stuff go to renaissance festivals. I sent them the same pictures. Both said red. LOL

Will look for some lighter weight leggings/tights. I wore my cycling tights in the picture.

Yes, I do need to wear a different bra, but thankfully don't need to go out and buy one. ;)

This is a cheap costume for that evening... all borrowed, or owned.
