Good thoughts for Buffy please......

Buffy has really been having a hard time with her arthritis this cooler season, but just now I went outside to check on my dogs only to find Buffy still laying in my front lawn.
It is almost dark out and Larry is home, so it is highly unusual for Buff to still be here at my house so late in the day.
I honestly thought she had passed away, after hollering her name from the back yard with no response from her. Upon closer inspection, she was breathing, but shallow and unresponsive. I was scared to touch or lift her. Just as I was going to go next door to get Larry, he must have heard me and came around the yard.
When she heard his voice she struggled to get up, and then he picked her up. Something is not right. She just lay in his arms. No tail wagging.
He has taken her home now, so all I can do is sit here and fret all night.
I will end this by saying, she has declined much this summer, and if it is her time to go, then I hope she goes without pain.
My heart is broken.
Rest easy my sweet Buffy. If you must go, go knowing we love you.

Trin

How old is she?? So sad. I know you once took her to the vet, I wonder if she can get some pain meds to at least ease her suffering. Call Larry instead of fretting. Maybe he needs to make a decision.

So sorry to hear this. I hope he will take her to the vet, maybe it is something simple to fix or maybe it is time to end her suffering.

I was thinking about Buffy recently and wondered how she is doing. I meant to post and ask about her, and then something came up and it slipped my mind.

I hope Larry takes her to the vet.

Trin, it's heartbreaking to hear of little Buffy suffering like that. I hope Larry will take her to a vet. Bless her little heart. I'm so glad she has had you in her life to give her the loving and care she may not have otherwise known. Please let us know when you know more.

Trin, I am so sorry to hear that. I know you have tried so hard to make sure Buffy was cared for. I hope she'll be ok. I know from what we are dealing with here, how much this hurt.

Any news on Buffy?

RE: Good thoughts for Buffy please......

I am so sorry. I remember how you struggled to get Buffy away from her former owner. She had such a good life with you, I am broken-hearted that it looks like it will be so short.

I have not see Buffy yet this morning. It is not unusual on the weekends when Larry is off work. If I don't see her within the next couple of hours, I will go over and ask him about her. I know that this will be very difficult for Larry as Buffy is the last memory of his mother he has. I hope for the best, and am very nervous about checking on her for fear of bad news. I hope she was only having a bad day.
I will let you know as soon as I hear something. Thank you for all your kind words. I know you all hold a piece of your heart for this sweet girl.

I'm praying it's just a short-term virus and that Buffy will be over it soon. Let us know.

Why is this dog not being treated by a vet? If Larry does not take him to a vet this is considered animal abuse. I could not stand by and watch this happen without reacting. This post is very upsetting to me.

Trin, any news??

I sure hope our girl is ok.

 o
RE: Good thoughts for Buffy please......

No news yet.
Donna, I have taken it upon myself to take care of Buffy to the best of my ability. She is not my dog, although she might as well be. A rather long story.
The owner will not give her to me, and it is a fine line to cross.
I wish I had better news, or any news at all at this point.

Just please keep Buff in your thoughts and prayers.

So, how is Buffy doing?

 o
RE: Good thoughts for Buffy please......

Trin,
I know that you care about Buffy and have tried to take care of her.
It is animal abuse to not get a pet medical attention. What you described sounds like a medical emergency. The best thing for Buffy would be to call the ASPCA.
