Absolutely, OF. I grew up in DC, and Northern Virginia and White Castle was the go-to place for the best hamburgers.

Actually, at that time I never heard them called sliders, and when I see that term, here at the KT or anywhere, I've always wondered what they referred to.

I sometimes run across a coupon for WC hamburgers, but can't find any place near by to get them Yes, the craving lingers.

Sliders are everywhere.
They're usually burgers or pulled pork.
Just mini sandwiches that are easier to eat.
Nothing special.

I have lived in areas of both White Castle and Krystal. The one Krystal that was near here closed a couple years ago and I have not had any since then.
I did way back in my younger days crave them but tthe didn't have them for so long I lost the craving. The last time I had them was the night we moved here. We were driving by and decided to whip in and grab a box full.

I do like buffalo chicken sliders. Lots of restaurants have copied those original tiny burgers now.

My mother had 3 sisters in the area, and we often had Sunday dinners with them and their families (at our house or theirs). One aunt was famous for being "frugal". For her family of 4 and our family of 4, she fried one chicken, mashed a small bowl of potatoes, and had one can of peas or green beans. We each got one small piece of chicken (her DH and daughter got the breasts). My brother and I loved to go there for dinner, because we always got to stop at White Castle or Little Tavern on the way home!!

No cravings for them here any more.

I think they sell frozen White Castle burgers now.

I've never had WC, and probably never will. I eat a lot of junk, so don't get me wrong, but fast food hamburgers are one of the few things I don't. Although, I bet they are really tasty! I hear the onions are like little flavor crystals.

Have to have the lone pickle slice, and secret Castle Sauce .Plain is too boring. They are 69â now. Not willing to try the frozen ones.

No, I've been there maybe once. The only one I know of in the area is in Frankfort, on the other side of town from where I usually go so don't go that way often. I guess I never go there because I didn't grow up with them or eat there when I was younger.

We had them while growing up and yes, I do crave them, every once in awhile....I also did get some at either Walgreen or Walmart and my hubby popped them in the micro....They were OK but not nearly as good as the original.........

Way back when, our closest one was 35 miles. Visiting relatives, Dad always stopped for the treat. Never realized we would grow up having the "craving"! Stupid little burgers. One can join the on-line club for coupons & discounts. Sure they offer other meals and sandwiches to stay competitive, but I only want the real White Castle.

Well I didn't crave any until I read this post. Now I'd love to have about 3! I'm originally from the Midwest and White Castles were all around. Looks like the closest one for me now is in Tennessee, a bit of a drive! A frozen one just wouldn't be the same.

When I first saw the post title, I thought it was probably about patio doors.

When my son drove to Illinois a few years back with his friend to see a concert, they stopped at a White Castle for the "mini burgers". He wasn't impressed at all. But he was really hungry and paid for them so he ate them. LOL Just as I had to have a Krispy Kreme donut when I was in Bellingham once. I can't tell you how ill I felt after eating them, and never did have a second one when they opened a restaurant in Calgary (which closed down about a year later because not a lot of us here liked their donuts, but their coffee is good)....

I've never had a White Castle, but then, I've never seen a firefly either.

The slider title is attracting those in the know. Cravers!!!.

I hear the word "sliders" and think people are talking about oysters on the half-shell. Imagine my surprise when the first time someone at my table ordered sliders and a plate of tiny burgers arrived!

Oysters, to me, would probably invoke "sliders, but I'm not willing to try. Funny that they brought burgers instead.

Jodi, when I first heard the word "sliders" my assumption was also oysters on the half shell. People here still use the term for oysters but restaurants have all switched to meaning a mini-sandwich of some sort.
