Computer question

Can anyone tell me why " Word" is doing this? I run windows XP

Between every word it is putting a period and another special symbol at the end of each thing I type. That sign is there at the begining when I first start but moves to the end when i am finished. I tried to copy and paste it here but it pasted without a problem?????

Hope some one can help me.

RE: Computer question

It sounds like you are seeing the formatting symbols. I don't know what version of Word you have, but on the Home ribbon, look at the Paragraph section and find the symbol for a paragraph (or put your mouse on each symbol until you find the one that says Show/Hide) and click on that. See if that doesn't take away the symbols.

RE: Computer question

Or try this, if that doesn't work..

Click the Office button (big colorful circle, top right.

Select WORD OPTIONS - lower left/middle of the window.

Then select DISPLAY on the next windows that comes up. Make sure everything is unchecked under "Always show these formatting marks on the screen."

RE: Computer question

Thanks so very much. It worked.

I'm very appreciative.
