Sunporch picture

Here is a picture of inside the sunporch of my old house.
(We added on a sunporch, front porch, and mud room). They don't have the windows in the other end yet, or the roof on, but that should be this week. They have repaired all the bad wood on the roof...wasn't a whole bunch, thankfully...and got the tar paper on, and will order the metal for the roof this week. At least now when it rains, it won't just pour in.

The hole in the wall where the window was taken out, will be a solid wall. There is a door (that you can't see in this pic) that opens onto the hall by the bedroom, and where I am standing to take the picture, will be a doorway that opens to the kitchen.

It's slow, but we are making progress.

Now that's a porch! By the time you're finished you won't be able to call it your "old" house. It will be better than new.

Very nice! If I only had something like that for Spud LOL
By the way, I responded to your post about him.
It is going to be so great when finished

Oh, wow ... Marilyn, your upgrade of 'that old house' is just going to be stunning. I love seeing the progress, thank you! I sure wish I had the ability to see what 'could be' and then make it happen. I'm a slug in that area.

Oh, my cats are SOOOO jealous! They (and I) would love all those windows!

RE: Sunporch picture

I am sure you will end up living there summer and winter. Ours isn't that big but we love it and we spend a lot of time there. Even the animals love it on the porch. Your porch is wonderful. I'm so excited for you.

I plan to put the tv out there and a table for every day dining. I imagine we will live out there, like Ruthie said.
I have lived in such a tiny little space for so long, it is hard to imagine having so much room. It is handy...being inside the L and right off the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen.

Please keep us up to date on the progress on the house, Marilyn. I like living vicariously through you! LOL

Love the sunporch!

RE: Sunporch picture

It's going to be beautiful. What are the dimensions? It looks a lot bigger than my sunporch. I wish mine was in the same state of progress as yours. This will be the third winter of sheeting it off with plastic.

RE: Sunporch picture

Just beautiful!! Our kitties would love it, they have to make due with a small porch.

 o
RE: Sunporch picture

It's HUGE! You're going to love it. We live on our screened porch all summer, then move into the LR and library over the winter. Having the porch near the kitchen is so handy.

Where are you? What direction does the sunroom face? (We're north of Chicago. Our porch is SE; we put two skylights in the roof to keep the adjacent breakfast room and DR from being dark in winter.)

RE: Sunporch picture

It's beautiful already!!

 o
RE: Sunporch picture

Your porch is HUGE! I can certainly see why you would be planning on spending all your time out there. I looks absolutely great!

 o
RE: Sunporch picture

It's pretty close to 20' x 30'. I have measured it, but can't remember.

 o
RE: Sunporch picture

that's awesome!

 o
RE: Sunporch picture

Wow, I would love a sunroom that huge. I really enjoy seeing the pictures of the old house and all the great things you are doing to it.
