What's for dinner Friday?

Good grief, it's Friday already. Yikes, I'd better get my rear in gear tomorrow or Thanksgiving will be a frozen turkey!

We're having a tuna casserole tonight with garlic toast. Not exciting, but it didn't take any time to put together and we like it.

What are you having tonight?

I just put a meat loaf in the oven along with twice baked potatoes and some mixed veggies. I Love, love, love meat loaf so I'm looking forward to it.

Chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, yeast rolls, Swedish apple pie and red raspberry jello. I made the jello for Alyssa as Amber is coming over to pick up the supper I fixed for them too. Will add a vegetable of some kind.

Sue, glad you were able to get out and about. I see Indpls. weather in our newspaper. Like to look since DB lives in Greensburg. We only got up to 49 today--or so the paper said. Just heard we should have 70 on Monday, though. Glenda--haha! Hope you enjoyed that tamale. I had a pork tamale a couple of years ago at a little bakery that sells other things on the side. It was homemade and pretty good. Raven, happy birthday to your DH and have a wonderful dinner. I think yours sounds delicious! Shirley, isn't it fun to read restaurant menus? Sure is hard to make up one's mind sometimes! Especially if I'm hungry!! You must be having meatless Friday tonight. We used to do Monday's. (But not every Monday.) Rhizo, I will be right there! Oh, I do love sausage gravy. Now I'll be dreaming about it!! Jasdip, a turkey breast really goes a long way, doesn't it? Okay by me, I love it. Nice dinner--does your cabbage soup have a lot of different veggies in it? Mine does. I use the recipe from the cabbage soup diet. Very yummy!

Glenda, he liked it a lot. But he would've loved those fried chicken thighs. Georgysmom, I won't have to cook tomorrow either. My potatoes was huge and Harry's dinner serves 2 (or in his case 3). Joann, I've never made or eaten potato pancakes that I remember but people sure do love them. I would like the veggies in teriyaki--how did you do that? Lindalou, just be glad Jim's getting rid of something in the frig. But your dinner sounds better. Sue, you really are working way too hard. Hope you can get a break from all that hot canning for a few days this weekend. Really, you need a break, my dear!! Shirley, that sounds so good. Thanks for the milk tip. Wish I 'd read it before dinner. I will do that on the leftover potato tomorrow. I had quite a bad time of it so drank a Kellogg's Special K drink and ate some Kozy Shack tapicoa. Jasdip--wow, what a great price on Napa. That's probably my favorite cabbage. And it's so pretty!! That's a good way to package the peaches because people think you squeeze them to see if they're ripe--wrong--just smell them. I hope there were vents in them. Raven, all good things must come to an end--sigh! At least you know your DH is going to be a happy guy tonight (happy to see you even more than the home-cooked meal).

Bigack, beans and cornbread is one of my favorite meals. Sometimes I make the bread-like dumplings and pour the beans over a big ole dumpling. So good! Mary, I sure hope you weren't out there helping clean up the damage from last night. Not sure how your PT would feel about that. Walnutcreek, when I can't decide, sometimes I make an fried egg sandwich. Fast, easy cleanup and it fills the tummy. Hounds, it sure sounds good. I saw a recipe today on pinterest for a soup similar only it had smoked sausage and white beans with the greens. Enjoy! Matti, now see. Last night you were dreading WW and it went well. Congratulations! I know how hard it is to lose even 5 pounds.

Marilyn, are you building a new barn "from scratch"? That's quite a job. Your dinners sound good and I'm sure Jody appreciates them. I am going to make your cake with the candied fruit in it this year for sure. I bought the fruit quite a while ago. Hope it's still good, although I can't see how it could go bad. Raven, LOL! Harry used to call his lab work visiting the vampires, too. That shrimp po-boy sure sounds yummy. Shirley, I think asked you about your sisters before--I have 5 also. I have one brother, too. Yeah, I'm not big on sauerkraut, but that's just me. Alisande, the recipe sounds good and the picture looks good. Did you like it? I think I'd like it on rice better than mashed potatoes.

I have two of those wrapped sweet potatoes you put in the microwave think I'll have them and scrounge around for something else to go with them

Belch: Chinese buffet, and if you get there at 1:00, which I did, they stop replenishing the buffet, so I didn't get my usual cucumber salad, no teriyaki chicken, I left hungry cause I ate very little.

Shoulda left when I saw the limited foods on the buffet.

i don't know yet. I found something frozen in my freezer and thought it was meatloaf (not). It's partly thawed, appears to be macaroni and beans? Not sure, but I'll thaw it fully and take a taste before I serve it.

I have two of those thick Costco pork chops split in half in a baking dish. I made some stove top stuffing and put it on top. Covered in foil and bake for an hour. It sure smells good in here. I think we are going to have Brussel sprouts and applesauce to go with them.

Georgysmom, I love meatloaf, too. Mainly because I really love meatloaf sandwiches the next day. I'd love to have a whiff of your kitchen!

Sue, you're such a good mom. I know you'lkl all enjoy the chicken and noodles.

Minnie, I've seen those potatoes in the store, but haven't tried them. Just about anything goes with sweet potatoes, so enjoy!

Glenda, that happened to us once--looked like a lot left but what there was, was dried out and not very tasty. Some things were okay, so we got our fill.

Dang, ont gal, someone posted the other day about Swiss steak and I've been hungry for it since. Lucky you!

LOL, Jannie, the mystery meal--we've had our share of those when I've forgotten to mark what was in the container. Hope it's something you really liked.

Patti we are sharing a brain again!
I found cans of tuna in the pantry so I put together a tuna salad, so sandwiches tonight. I am worn out just from fixing the tuna.
But I sampled it and it actually taste good so maybe my taste buds are returning.

Nita, that sounds wonderful. I love Stove Top and saute celery and onions and add to it with some extra chicken broth. Spread it over the top of pork chops, bake and, believe me, you can't tell it's any different than homemade using Pepperidge Farm bread stuff.

My frozen mystery dinner turned out okay, yes it was macaroni and black beans and tomatoes in a tomato sauce. Tasty, DH and I ate big bowls and our dog Molly even got some.

Jannie, after cleaning out the frig the other day, I think I either need a dog or another child :-) (Neither of which will happen in this life time.)
