I just learned about Priceblink. It is a wonderful add-on and is available for different browsers.

You just do a search for an item, click on the link to the actual item, and Priceblink will flash a gold bar above the ad, showing where you get it cheaper, or other options. It is wonderful and I wish I had known about it long ago.

Before downloading it, you can watch a video of how it works.

I use one similar to that called Invisible Hand. Has come in handy a number of times.

Can I just add this on here too...If you do a lot of online shopping, you should consider joining ebates for money back everytime you shop their sponsors. All you have to do is go to ebates and use their link to the stores and you get cash back...Goodly amounts right now too....A friend just joined a couple of weeks ago before she started shopping and has already accumulated nearly 100 dollars...Mine isn't that much but I have to get busy shopping...

Hi. Acquired the AT&T connect card in December and found that it wasn't any faster than dial-up at first. The representative said sometime in January I should see a substantial increase in speed after the upgrades were made from their end. As recently as a few days ago I called and asked when it would get faster and they said "soon." Well for the past two days my download speeds have increased from 4 to 5 kb/sec to between 15 and 20kb per second. It isn't just my imagination either but the internet is MUCH faster now than when I had dial-up. That is with just a "good" connection as opposed to "very good" or "excellent" connections which I sometimes get. Even though it isn't as fast as DSL or cable yet I've been told that it is just a matter of time before those speeds will be available. Overall I am very happy with the service and only expect it to get better. After 15 years of dial-up this is like a million dollars to a blue collar worker. I don't believe you would be disappointed in getting the card. Regards.

Not all are dual core.. dual core is nice. If given a choice avoid the Celeron processor,, but they are ok. Buss speed can make things peppier,, 1066 v/s 667, if given the choice go faster. I've a 6 pound toshiba 15.4 screen right now and find it rather large compaired to the 14.1 it replaced. Both have the same size keyboard. Actually both are the same weight but due to leverage the 15.4 feels heavier & obviously has more plastic and flexes slightly to save weight. The 14.1" laptop keyboard fills the width, no edge room to spare.. I assume thats probably the smallest screen with normal sized keyboards. Slower processers are cooler. Some people have laptops that are too hot for laps during the summer. And too hot sitting on their desks too and stick fan cooler pads under them. Lighter the better in my opinion. Moving it from room to room that weight isnt as important as the picking it up and setting down while on the sofa or recliner. While I enjoy the 15.4 screen,, the 14.1 was fine and much easier to handle. Faster hard drives are nice. But not a must. Vista likes memory 2gb,, more is noticably better. Windows 7 comes out end of October I believe so maybe try to get a rain check on a free upgrade when buying.

By open, I meant...open to opinions of others. By repeating the same comments, you imply that anyone who does something differently from what you do is wrong and or making a mistake. When an actual Chromebook owner spoke of having a positive experience, you responded by saying "I would never have one". I'm not sure why you find it necessary to be so contrary but that's YOU berating others. I think it's nice that you help others. I hope you continue to do so whether here or elsewhere, but that's not a license for being narrow minded with the advice you give.

We have two rental properties and have done the short-term rental thing -- I'll agree with the above and add a few points. The downside of short term rentals, in some areas, is that the long term rental market can get impacted and in small tourist-centric areas, the housing demand can get impacted. However, most renters, I believe, are not looking for a profit but rather some money to defer the cost of ownership. There may be people and professional firms/funds looking to make a profit from the get go, especially if they are looking to park some cash. But 425K is a pretty high price to do that -- you saw, as mentioned, post-2008 large chunks of rental real estate (short and long) were purchased at bargain prices. (we looked into buying as well, as regular landlords). Like other 2nd home buyers, we started off in San Francisco looking for a pied-a-terre and had it for like 8 years before we decided that we could try out this home sharing thing. It was very lucrative, and we could have grossed 100K per year. However, the city moved in to restrict rentals to 90 days and have put further restrictions in place to prevent landlords from taking long term rentals into the short term market. But even there, a long term rental is profitable for us. But neither was a goal when we started. On the French Riviera, where we bought earlier this year, we never intended to make a profit. There, just have some income helps offset holding expenses as we don't intend to be there more than five weeks a year. We are fortunate in the fact that profit was not a requirement and we can afford to buy and run these without the income, but it's nice. (Unfortunately, DH is starting to dream about a fourth).

Well I also installed Invisible Hand too. I haven't played with it much, but saw it gave different results than Priceblink. I also had to 'X out" the Priceblink bar in order to see the Invisible Hand bar. I'll play with it later and probably use both sometimes.

Sure! Possibly others will have some sites with that can save us or earn us some $$$...always a good thing.

there are lots of these and you can get them for your android devices as well as apple devices, just google for price check apps. I had posted a link to several on that same thread on computer help where the priceblink was.
Having them on cellphone while out shopping can be helpful, some let you just scan the code on the product and it will pop up with the best prices in your area for the product.
