Very odd. Twins? Hard to believe they would die on the same day, but it could happen, especially if it was an accident. They would only have been 11. Maybe they were conjoined twins!

conjoined twins have to be the same gender since they come from one egg. Oh well, that's not the answer.

RE: Another unusual gravestone

Most likely twins, yes. I'm thinking they either died in an accident or contracted the same illness.

Ten forever. "Age shall not weary them..."

RE: Another unusual gravestone

Imagine their poor parents!

RE: Another unusual gravestone

illness is one reason families had so many children, to carry on the family name, farms, of my great great greats had 10? 2 wives...

RE: Another unusual gravestone

A major illiness could have taken both on the same day. Diptheria was a deaded disease of that time along with others. Food poisoning could do the same. Accidental death could do the same. Travel by horses was unreliable. A horse is a creature of instinct and acts accordingly. Getting kicked by a horse or injuried because a horse bolted did occur.
