my mind, but that's nothing new. :) Actually, I misplace my hairbrush quite often.

What important item often gets misplaced in your home?

Time to stick to the rule I was taught. A place for everything and everything in its place. It does help. Or you could have another one stashed somewhere else. I like to keep a small hairbrush in all 3 bathrooms so that I can give my hair a swipe when it needs it.

Even though I gave my cell phone a home when I moved in here, it doesn't always make it there. Some days, I truly hope someone will call, so I can locate it. ;)

I am somewhat better with my keys. The set to the out door shed does disappear often, but I usually find it in the pants I wore while gardening last.

I grow Bubble Bath, and prune it to keep the blooms off the ground. I remove the spindly growth at the base of the plant. I get some dieback each winter, and prune to shape it. Pruning it back on the sides somewhat seems to encourage it to send up new canes in the center of the plant, so it looks full in the center. I grow a few other Hybrid Musks, and also remove the spindly growth at the base of the plant.

Hi Jen, Indeed. I read a lot of advice on this site, inspected the root of my plants (everything ok) and potted them on the correct mix. I became more careful when watering, etc. That's exactly what they do, lose them one at a time (well, by the time the first one is brown another is already soft and whitening). At first I used to remove them, but since root inspection showed no rot, there are no bugs, etc. now I leave those leaves. Probably you're right and the plant know what it does want to grow or keep and what not. Anyway, I just wanted to check if it was normal or if there's anything that could be done to help the plant if it's doing that due to lack/excess of water, moisture, sunlight, etc.

I do have a greenhouse and I'm still whining. I've never had to have the heat on during the day in mid May. It's usually off for the season in early May. My peas in the hoop house will blossom soon but the ones outdoor are probably rotting in the ground. The greens are all up and the onions don't seem to mind this cold. I lost the top 3' of a rose bush. I looked at it out the window today and noticed green shoots coming from the bottom so it's not dead. My husband and daughter just spent four days on the Allagash. Last week - high 80Â°'s. This week - snow yesterday morning. When I talked to them a couple of hours ago they'd had enough camping and were ready to get home to a warm house.

Oh, good grief - you name it, I can't find it! I put everything back in its place, but forget where that place is, so I get great surprises every day, when I find something I couldn't find earlier.

I have places for things. My purse always gets dropped there, my glasses and watch are there. I HATE it when I KNOW I have something and can't find it. Drives me crazy, and I'll totally start cleaning until I find it.

Well, earlier today, I printed out a recipe, and now cannot find it. I just printed out another copy, so, of course, I'll find the original one! But in the meantime, I'm just in a tizzy about where it could be!!

Your subject line got me, but the topic is unexpected. :)

I don't lose things -- unless someone else moves them on me! I have a weird memory of where things are located and am very spatially oriented. Mention an item and I picture in my mind the last place I saw it. :p

Phyllis, I'm so with you. My problem is even worse. I will go out and buy all the ingredients necessary and then I cannot find the recipe and cannot remember where I got it from! So annoying.

My keys and my phone. Both have a place in my purse. Usually with the keys it's when I set them down "just for a minute" while I bring in groceries. In the case of the phone, usually it's when I'm expecting a text or call and carry the phone into another room and leave it. On occasion, it has slipped between the car seats and I thought I'd put in my purse.

It never lasts for long. I use the phone as an alarm, so I will find it before I go to bed. I always check my purse pocket for my keys before bed too. I don't have time in the mornings to look for lost keys.

I pretty much have a place for everything so can find it ASAP, but this morning I lost my coffee cup as we were getting ready for church. Looked all over it in kitchen, office, living room, bathrooms, hall table, by my piano, by the phone, etc.. Finally just gave up on the coffee.

After church I began looking for it again and found it on the shelves in the garage. As I was getting ready for church I realized I hadn't fed our outdoor/shed cat and I'd made a quick trip out to feed it. The full cup of now cold coffee was sitting on the shelves where I keep the canned cat food. Logical place I guess given what I was doing, but my mind must have been on auto-pilot.

My dh gave me a new phone for our anniversary. It was a well intended gift with a bigger screen so I could see better. Now it doesn't fit in my pocket so I set it down and can't find it again.

Dh is the loser of the keys. I had to give him my set to his vehicle for five days until he found his..actually, I found them for him. Lol!
