I must say I haven't been a very attentive shopper this year. Anyone else finding some good buys?

JC Penney is offering free shipping all day today, with no minimum. I've been looking for a queen-size fleece blanket, and found one with good reviews on JCP for $18. They also have one by Sunbeam that the reviews said was too thin. I didn't want thin. At least not in blankets. ;-)

I'm not doing much shopping this year and most of what I needed to get I've already ordered. I would definitely suggest checking retailmenot.com for coupon codes before ordering off the internet. There are also deal sites that list deals daily... like Fatwallet.com (just went there and bought some stuff from Belk..who also have free shipping today).

A note about the Kindle Fire for $129. - that comes with "special offers" which are ads that show up on your screen. I have read a lot of complaints about these and how hard they are to remove. I don't own one, so I'm just going on what I've read. The Kindle Fires which are ad free are $174. today at Amazon.

Check out Ebates before you buy anything on-line (whether appliances or t-shirts). It is a legit site and you get cash back on purchases if you click through their web site. Abt and AJ Madison are listed (but not for Miele). I got a nice check after remodeling my bathroom last year. Home Depot, Home Portfolio, Target, etc. had good rebates and you can still use all of the store's coupons. The rebates for some (not sure if it was all) stores doubled for Black Friday and I will be on the lookout again Cyber Monday. You're welcome, Carol and Jin. When I read the email from ARE Monday morning I headed straight here and was surprised to see that no one had posted about it yet. I honestly don't remember signing up for emails from them, but I do have an online account with them, so maybe they automatically send notices to anyone who has an account? There's a link at the bottom of their home page to create an account/profile. Funny, I've had several Louis Philippes from various vendors, but I've never ordered Cramoisi Superieur. I'm wondering if I'll notice any differences. Rose de Rescht was my gateway rose into this addiction. It's been a while since I've had it, though, and I feel like I need it again. It's problematic for me in that it has blackspotted or gotten really bad crud when I've had it before. This one will be part of an experiment. ARE is own root. I plan to also get a grafted RdR in the spring to see which might be the healthier one here. I'm wondering if a grafted one would prove to have more disease resistance. I'm so happy that everyone was able to order roses they wanted and receive the discount. Happy Growing!

Raven, thanks. I read those reviews on Amazon, but I think it's possible the one I bought directly from Motorola might be different from the one Amazon is selling. I'll see what it looks like when I get it. Definitely will need a case! The G7+ was only recently released in the U.S. For a couple of years it was available only in Europe. When it was finally released last month, it seems there are two versions of the same model involved. I don't know any more than that, but I'm sure I'll love it. The camera reviews are great. Although this will be my third smart phone, I've pretty much ignored the others, using them only for phone calls or texts when I had to. I don't have a cell signal at home, and the idea of checking email, etc., when I'm out never appealed to me. But it seems to be universally assumed that everyone has a smart phone with them at all times, and it's getting harder to do some things without the ability to tap and swipe, etc. So I'm going to sign up for my first data plan, and a new chapter begins. :-) Those boots are so cute! My daughter-in-law bought me a similar pair a couple of years ago, but in paisley.

Yikes--you can tell I don't know much about Kindles. My Kindle is the basic model; the Nexus is my "fancy." LOL

I second the thought of using Retailmenot. It's a great site. I hadn't heard of Fatwallet, though. I'll check it out--thanks, Lydia!

I ordered them also alisande. Now I will have a set for the RV too. I keep one of these on my bedside table so anytime I need to get up during the night or if the power goes off I have a light at hand and the hanger on the back is really helpful, I hook it on my shirt collar and can see where I am going plus have both hands free. We had bought several at Big Lots when they had them but they don't carry them any more so I was happy to see these.

I ended up buying a couple of things at REI: Acorn slippers for my granddaughter (fuzzy boots in an ocelot print) and serious mittens for my grandson--total $29 with free shipping.

I didn't find anything special. American Girl Doll didn't have the selection they've had in past years. The children's clothing stores were sold out of sizes I needed.

Radio Shack had the Panasonic Lumix TS20 for $99--came with a free 16GB memory card...and with every $50 you spent--you got a $10 gift card......Since was just under the $100, bought some stupid led light to get me over the $100--to get another $10 gift card!

And today Amazon and Petsmart (still on) had Armarkat cat trees 50% off!! We already have 2 large ones and a smaller one, but hey, for that price--got another!!!
