Today is Memorial Day and time for Step 3, Starter Fertilizer (18-24-12). Lawn is responding well to soil adjustments. It's looking gorgeous and receiving lots of compliments. I've applied a Milo application between Step 2 & Step 3. The Milo iron certainly keeps the dark green going. KBG is producing tons of rhizomes and filling in thin spots. Weeds such as clover and chickweed are being thinned out by 3" turf and several applications of weed control. Dimension took care of the foxtail grass. No evidence of any young sprouts.

Neil - it was a busy day. It took me all day because I kept having to go inside to cool off! But then again, I wasn't in a hurry. And if I don't find homes for my plants, we do have a big plant fair in March. I know, it's a long time off, but it is a great venue for trading - much to the chagrin of those who are trying to sell their plants. When I sell my plants, it is usually for a dollar or two, just to cover the cost of growing media. Sharing is more important to me. Kim, everything I read says this plant is frost tender and grows in zones 9-11. If you can keep it in a pot and bring it in for the winter, I think it will do fine. They sure can be a handful. We old ones forget, remember the fun but not the work. Glad you came through the "ordeal" in good, or at least fair shape.

Thanks you Holly. Lets all think Spring...Can't hurt, can it? Shingles are tough for everyone. Sherry, I will agree. I had so much pain for 10 days (not typical) that I had resigned myself to having trigeminal neuropathy and am actually relieved it is shingles since they should eventually clear up. Maryl, I was lucky to see the doctor an start on Famcyclovir the day I broke out and am hoping it will clear up faster. I will see eye doctor today since it appears to be in my eye. (Can't so the simple thing anytime it seems). Life is always a ride...not always good or bad but problems are just part of it. I hope you are are doing well and the weather will finally clear up and let us have spring. kay
