dedtired, I've had exactly the same experiences you describe. But only when using Chrome as the browser.

Yahoo mail seems to behave better with Firefox or Internet Explorer. I'll add that Chrome has been erratic in a number of ways lately - another problem is that it sometimes won't play videos embedded in a web page.

Who knows what's going on. Maybe you'll have a better experience using a different browser? Good luck.

I've experienced the same thing Dedtired. Ever since they changed, there is some kind of problem or another. More often than not, I can't click on a message to read it. It just sits there without opening.

I didn't realize that it's a Chrome problem. Chrome is my preference, and I really don't want to open another browser just to read my mail. I have to do that with IE to read my business email and company website, as it doesn't support anything but IE and it's a pain.

jasdip, maybe it's not a Chrome problem, it's hard to know.

Yahoo mail has also been erratic for me too in the past few months. My smartphone will go for many hours with no pass-through of Yahoo emails and then I get a flood all at once. All the while, gmail messages come through as received.

Luckily with both email accounts as with browsers, there are many free and capable alternatives.

I haven't had the problems you describe using Firefox, but I do have the lag problem where you click on an action and you get the white screen of death. If I page back and wait two seconds, then click the action again, it usually works, but what a pain that is.

I use Firefox (not to mention the dreaded Windows 8 and Internet 10) - and have been having many of the same issues. I live in Canada. Our Internet provider does not yet support Internet 10 and just started supporting Windows 8 - but unfortunately knows zip about it.

I have verizon Yahoo mail. I absolutely hate it now. They changed the format yet again and definitely not for the better.

Very tempted to use a different email. But what a pain to change my email on everything that has my email. I've had the same one for so many years. Ugh.

Another "new and improved" feature that I hate is having the tool bar only at the bottom. That means if you have along series of email massages, you have to scroll all the way down to hit send. Fortunately someone (here, I think) told me about using ctrl + enter to send. That works fine although there is a moments hesitation before it goes and I wonder if it's going or not!

I'm having problems to-day too. I'm getting this " do you want to keep on writing" also. Also if something is in the draft folder, even after it has been sent it still sits there until I go back into the In box. Sometimes the typing goes up into a little box on the left hand corner and I can't get rid of it. My Yahoo calendar still won't work and I'm using the Google calendar but now it has started eliminating everything but to-days things and forward. I'm using Internet Explorer so it isn't always working either. On many things it comes up and says Internet Explorer is no longer working so will have to close. You shut it off and the site comes up anyway. All kinds of problems that I wish I could find answers for.

I'm sorry everyone else is having problems, but I am glad it isn't only me.

Yahoo hasn't been shutting me up.

But ... sometimes it takes its own sweet time to open a message, and I have to try to send a message to a folder up to half a dozen times.

I can't find how to edit folders.

When I sign out, and want to open a different email address, when I click on "Mail" the one that I was using reopens ... and I have to close it up to half a dozen times before it gives me a dialogue box to allow me to open the one that I choose.

I just realized today, that Yahoo brought the TABS back on our inbox. That means we can have several messages open at once, if we choose.

Click on View (on the right) and check Tabs. This will make them usable.

A number of things are fixed, regarding Yahoo mail and the Groups. They're obviously listening to the complaints.

I hate this new format of Yahoo too. IE continuously stops working. Often, Yahoo "isn't responding". What used to be an enjoyable pastime/info gathering, process, now is a real pain!
Why change a good thing?

Actually, maybe this is a good thing. It'll stop me from killing so much time on the computer.

Forgot to ask....the tool bar at the bottom of Yahoo mail that contains the font size, color, italics, etc., is not working. Can someone tell me what to do, to make that work?
