There were four of these in the yard yesterday, and I have never seen them before. They were about the size of a robin. When they saw me, the flew up into a tree and then off over the house into the wild blue younder. I have posted this on the bird watching forum, but thought someone here might know what they are. Their beak was rather thick, like a grosbeak. Picture is blurry, but the best I could do.

The picture in the other forum looks like a female Pine Grosbeak, to me.

I also looked on the birding forum and saw the photos. I have had these in my yard also and had them ID'd by a local birding group as pine grosbeaks too. Never had them here before :)
