Interesting cookies

I tried a new recipe for "Self-frosting Anise Cookies"..... you drop the cookie dough on the baking sheets and let it sit overnight. When you bake them the 'frosting' magically appears. So cool! I haven't tasted them yet, but if they're any good I think this recipe has great potential for tweaking to create other flavors. lol!

Here's the recipe if you want to try it....

Self-frosting Anise Cookies

Note: all ingredients should be at room temperature.

2 c. flour
1/2 t. baking powder
1 T. anise seed
3 eggs
1 c. + 2 T. sugar
1/2 t. salt

1. Sift flour, measure, and sift again w/ baking powder.
2. Beat eggs and sugar at medium for 30 minutes
3. Add flour mixture and beat 3 minutes
4. Add anise seed.
5. Drop by teaspoons on greased and floured cookie sheets
6. Dry overnight
7. Bake at 325F for 12 minutes
