I had a wonderful time at my DB's we ate we talked, I napped in the chair til it was time to go home. Stopped by Belks (see I am a shark thread) I am glad to be home and warm!! Tomorrow is the grocery store day!

Yes, it was quieter than usual with the little grandsons spending the holiday with the other grandparents, but it was nice. My sister and her DH came for dinner and brought wine and dessert. Older son and DIL made the salad and vegetables. Younger son did so much to help too, because I had told them that this year I need help because of the aches and pains from being rear ended 6 weeks ago. Time for all of them to help this old lady anyhow.

We tried a Natural Fresh turkey, and it was delicious.

We just said good bye to son and his girl..they have a super early flight out of Seatac in the morning. 2 hour drive from up here too...

My stock is done...most of the dishes are washed.

Hubby and I were joined by both daughters and their boyfriends. One brought an apple pie, the other 2 cans of cranberry sauce. Of course I already had plenty of food but it was nice of them. Everything came out cooked on time, we enjoyed a nice meal together. I have one portion of turkey breast left, no other leftovers. They'll be coming for Christmas, too.

Thanks for asking Marilyn Sue, it was a wonderful day. The older I get , I always say the same after every holiday. They are the best yet. Maybe that comes with age and being thankful that we are still with family. Our grands are very young. Four and five, most folks our age have great and great grands now. My mother, who is nearing 100 is still with us. Family is so very important to us, and feel so surrounded by love. Yes, enjoyed our day so very much.

Yes, we did. The guys were hunting so they were gone all day and came home to a perfectly cooked dinner. We sat around and talked until two more drove more than 4 hours, getting here around 10 PM, so they could hunt today. They are all out at the hunting land now, looking for more deer. They are not hunting for trophies, they want the meat and every thing will be used.

We have so many leftovers, I always go overboard. But today I plan to make beef tenderloin, and use the leftovers as sides. I unfortunately have to go to work for awhile, hopefully not too long.

We had a lovely dinner at my son's house. My daughter and her family drove in from Pittsburgh and we also met a dear friend of my son's husband who was visiting from New York. I brought the desserts and the turkey and sides were wonderful. I just love being with my family.

We only have two grandchildren and they are far apart in ages. One is in her 30's and expecting our first great grandchild, a boy and then there is Alyssa that is not 3 years old yet. Really looking forward to the new baby. She goes in on Saturday to the hospital, so maybe he will be born soon.

Yes...DH and his son and daughter, granddaughter and my sister. Turkey and all trimmings.

I didn't have a Thanksgiving dinner this year. Because of a convergence of circumstances, I was home by myself most of the day. That was okay.....I got a lot of things done, and vicariously (through Facebook) enjoyed the Macy's parade via pictures posted by my daughter and her family, who were in NYC for the occasion.

In the evening I visited my son and his family, and spent a lot of time holding my 2-week-old grandson. That was definitely joyful! I have a lot to be thankful for.

We went to my DH sister's house, about a 30 minute drive. I took a dessert and salad. We had a fun day. All of his nieces and nephews are grown so only ten adults there. His mother is 92 but in good health.

Like I posted had a great dinner at GD with relatives. All I had to provide was a pie. She has discovered the wonderful world of food network and using many great ideas. I am so thankful, even though I do miss DH, I know he is no longer is such pain.

A very wonderful and exhausting day.

It was very special, all of my 'immediate neighbors ' getting together. Most of them didn't really know each other...but we (the family in the middle of the hub) knew them all. By the time the evening was over, the seeds of new friendships had been sown.

We sat down for dinner at about five, though we had a 'happy hour ' at four with drinks and a few hors d'oeuveres. The couple with the baby and two year old left around seven, others stayed until nineish, just talking and laughing until our sides ached.

Oh, the dishes were washed and the kitchen tidied....and not by me! Love that kind of company! :-)

The day was very enjoyable!! I fed eleven. The dinner had all the usual trimmings...all homemade, of course, and the Ravens game was GREAT, but I truly don't think the turkeys of this era have much taste. I was disappointed in it, though it certainly got eaten...all 22 pounds of it is gone after today.

We went to daughter's house where my son was and my son in law 's parents. Granddaughter wasn't with us for the first time ever. She lives in Western PA with her fiance and had to work yesterday. She'll be home for Xmas.

My Thanksgiving Day holiday ended at 8:30 this morning when DS and his family left for the drive back home.

They arrived at my house from out of state early Wednesday morning. Thanksgiving day dinner #1 was at his DD's at noonish and as usual was great. Later in the afternoon we went to my DD's DS's for TD dinner #2, which included huge steaks along with the turkey. So much food!!

Of course, leftovers from both were brought back to my house. My "kids" understand that I don't do a lot of cooking anymore.

Unfortunately, none of us have room enough to have both sides of the families at one time.

The weather has been freezing and below, but inside, we all had full tummies and enjoyed being able to visit and recall "back in the day" happy times; still remembering sad times too.

The best thing, over all to me, was seeing two of my 12 year old Great Grandsons meet each other for the first time. They immediately became best friends, and chose to spend the night at my house, where they could be together until time to leave for home. That involved a little extra driving for my DS, but it was not a problem, and I loved having them here.

Even though this morning, I see that my computer has been places I didn't even know existed, and I find I can't get into my Facebook. I think one of them must have signed on with the password they use. Not a problem. I just need to go back and hunt up mine, or FB will give me a new one. I am grateful that they can stay in touch this way. And of course they have those other "gadgets" that are foreign to me.

So the answer is yes, it has been a happy time all around.

Well, sort of. I was hosting and developing a bad cold at the same time, so I was beyond pooped and felt pretty crummy by the end of the evening. It's always lovely to see friends and dd's though!

DH and I spent Thanksgiving recovering from having DS and his family here the day prior. (Why do I still try to pick up my DGD? She'll only be three in February but weighs 36 lbs and is 38" tall.) The 'kids' were having dinner with DIL's sister's family Thursday.
