Good morning! I too try to visualize people and it rarely, if ever, works out. it is nice to put faces to names. Shirley, still thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers. i know that's your daughter, brittney and dawson -- who are the others (inquiring nosey minds want to know) and as for your mom, you never know what the next roommate may be, perhaps you can hold off on the move until you see what comes in LOL, however, I think I'd want to be with my own and her secrets kept!!!! annie your dogs are beautiful, as are you. my aunt and uncle, for as long as i can remember, were the first home for service dogs until they were ready to go into training. they had several different dogs from what i recall. sorry about your lizzie...i know how hard it is to lose a beloved pet. my next dog is going to be a shepherd, but it's been decided that we will only have one dog at a time now, so I have to wait my turn. (we'll see) i made an anniversary cake for a group i belong to, it was our 7 year anniversary so i made this massive cake. i filled it with alternating layers of buttercream and lemon curd, and dang, if it was not tasty. I was able to take a slice home for the family to taste and seriously wish there had been more leftover, would have made a nice breakfast!!!! a real nice combination, even though it started out that i was going to use raspberry as well...i just couldn't get enough to cook them down to make a nice sauce/filling. it's still so cold and seems to be staying that way until at least next week, when it's supposed to go to the high 40's, with rain. by then, i'll think it's summer. this cold is bone chilling and of course, they are calling for more snow. we haven't got much of it, but.....this year it is bothering me like mad! i shouldn't complain, there are parts of the country that are in the negatives, so i'll just keep my mouth shut on this subject any further! so whose left to post their pic? come out. come out whereever you are! speaking of which, jeanne, how are those triplets of late? is mary ellen still a part of this group? i feel like i haven't seen her in a long time...maybe since she became a grandmom, or right before that? hae a nice thursday! maryanne

Name a topic you find controversial. Politics What is your occupation right now? SAHA - stay at home auntie What color are your socks right now? Sandal, no socks. I used to only wear socks from Dec to Feb because my feet were only cold in the dead of winter. Times sure have changed because now I need socks Oct to April and during the coldest months I wear 2 pair at once. What are you listening to right now? A lawn mower outside & the fridge humming inside Can you drive a stick shift? Yes, a high school boyfriend taught me in his brother's car (without permission of the owner!) Last person you spoke to on the phone? One of my sisters How old are you today? 49 for a few more weeks What is your favorite sport to watch on TV? I hate all sports and don't watch any of them willingly. Now if the question was what sports are often shown on the TV in my home the answer would be baseball, golf, basketball & football. I had one Barbie - this was back in the day you had one doll & multiple clothes. My friends with daughters tell me now-a-days girls will have multiple Barbies. I knew a family with 3 girls and they had 65 Barbies! The Mom said it was because they were rather cheap so for birthday gifts people would just buy them another doll & not just an outfit. And she, the mother, used to spend an hour a week redressing the dolls because she couldn't stand to see a pile of naked Barbies on the floor. To each his own, I guess. What is your favorite season? What are you most afraid of? Something harmful happening to a family member, global diasters, and snakes (I'm still kinda freaked after opening a recent posting on the other side a week or so ago. Yikes, I was not expecting that...I thought maybe a garden gnome or fountain. But no hard feelings. It's my phobia, not your problem). Favorite dog breed? Never had a dog myself so no favorite. Thru family members I've been exposed to Goldens, Labs & an Australian Cattle dog, which were all very nice dogs. Favorite day of the week? Every day is a good day for a SAHA How many states have you lived in? 4 - Mass, Rhode Island, NJ, Pa Diamonds, pearls, art jewelry or costume? I have little interest in jewelry so 3 years ago when a necklace caught my eye my DH said we should buy it for your anniversary present. Coincidently, it has 13 diamonds and it was my 13th anniversary - it must have been fate. He, in turn, had an ice cream from Cold Stone creamery as his present. Everyone left the mall happy. Fashion or comfort? Comfort, but I don't believe in wearing sweat clothes unless I'm going to, at, or returning from the gym.

I agree with you michael. I hate posing for pictures too. It is nice to see a few more posts on this topic. I spend all day working on computers that i don't always want to be near one when i get home. Anyway, I am a male, and i love my powertools. My favorite has got to be the recipricating saw. That is why the first part of my name, the second part came from my youngest daughter. Someone asked her where i worked and without missing a beat told them i was the computer geek for the schools. She wants to be one too when she gets older. I already have both of them trained for running all the wires and cables for my house. The are still young enough to not realize that this is really work. lol. Well hope you all had a great day!! Mike

Ok, I will stick me in here. I am 66, married for 48 years to my hero. We have a daughter 47, and lost a daughter suddenly 15 months ago. Slowly, we are coming out of the fog that put us in and I can see the light at the end of this tunnel. Remembering the happy times we had with her are slowly taking over the deep sadness. Over the years, I have worked at an answering service, a custom decorator at Sears and as a wig, bra and breast prosthesis fitter in a boutique for the hard to fit woman. What a fun and rewarding job. Women in crisis are a strong and inspiring group. We retired back home to Pennsylvania 9 years ago after 32 years in Ohio and Michigan. Settled about 35 miles north of Pittsburgh to be near family. Daughter is 7 miles away. My life revolves around her and the grand dog, Dh and my home. I love gardening and spend most daylight hours in my yard tending my flowers and shrubs when the weather is fit. In winter, I sew, work on jigsaw puzzles, and dust my hundreds of animal and bird figurines! I am very fond of all living creatures to say the least. I am somewhat handicapped, having been diagnosed with Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy at age 17. I am extremely fortunate that I can still walk a little after all these years. I use a cane for very short distances and a walker or a scooter when out of the house. I have been enjoying the KT since shortly after it started. I don't post a great deal, but come here to keep up with all the goings on several times a day. I laugh and cry with you all and am so greatful for the support that has been given me when I needed it. This is a wonderful place to bring your sorrows or ask for advice...and to share your joys.

My name is Janice and I have been here since 2003. I seldom post but do enjoy reading what others have to say. I'm a widow after 47 years of marriage. I have two daughters and three GD's, even have a female cocker spaniel. I'm fortunate to live next to the Okefenokee Swamp, land of the trembling earth, where so many of God's "critters" live. I sit on my back porch and often times get to watch them as they ramble through. I love to tell stories but can't remember who I told what to. LOL One of my hobbies is collecting china chamber pots. Can you imagine some people just shake their head with digust. LOL I also like to read anything that just strikes my fancy.

Hi Y'all. I'm Pat. I mostly lurk here, post very infrequently. I'm a retired RN/Master Gardener. DH & I moved to the Houston area 5 yrs. ago to be 900 miles closer to the kids/grandkids (who are now 45-90 mins. away. ) We have 3 sons, 1 daughter, 4 GKs (ages 7-12) and a GK coming in April. To quote Indiana Jones, "I'm just making it up as I go along." :-)

I'll be honest. If it is what others want then I say have fun with it.I don't want to spoil anyone's fun. But I really feel like Marcy does. If I wanted to share my personal stats and profile I would have them on my member page.

Having everything in one spot is a nice social idea but I am far too security/privacy oriented to want to take part. Having everything in one place for all to see is just inviting that one bad apple to wreak havoc if they chose. It's like a dossier on everyone here for anyone who wants to access it.

I see too much information already given out innocently on many benign posts. For some reason people who would never even think of having a Facebook account (which can only be seen by their friends and has several security features available) have no problem with posting the most personal details of their lives on this site which can be accessed by anyone and has little to none in the way of security/privacy features.

wildchild I see where you are coming from. I too wont post much personal information. I wont and dont do facebook or even twitter. I don't do family or personal photos on the net forums or boards either. I love to see what others look like if they want to post their pics

Hi,

My name is Donna and I live in southern NJ hence my name. I am very involved in the Diet Club but have lurked here for years.

I live about 15 miles from Atlantic City and am about an hour from Philly and 2 hours from mid town Manhattan. A great location!!

I love the beach, cooking, dogs, family and friends (no particular order!).
